Saturday's Smiles 2-28-2026

I was not asked to meet with anyone today so I did not have any definite plans. Before heading out for today's travels, I decided to run to the store and pick up a few things. While on my way, I noticed a couple of people and a large dog. I recognized the dog and drove over to where they were. Before leaving, I provided them with supplies. After my trip to the store, I returned home to put the items I purchased in the house. It was going to be another hot day and I did not want anything sitting in my vehicle for too long. When I went back out, I headed towards Fairmount Park. While driving through Rubidoux, I noticed that an area where I have been going to meet someone, and her dogs, was now fenced off. The woman was sitting on the sidewalk with most of her belongings and her dogs. I did not stop but made a plan to do so, after driving to the park. When I spotted someone I knew, with his dog, I pulled into the nearest parking lot for a visit and to provide supplies. When I got to another area of the park, I saw someone else with a dog but he was on his way to the restroom and I did not wait around. I left the park and went back to where I saw the woman and her dogs in Rubidoux. She is not sure where she is going to go now. She has a walker and doesn't get around easily, especially with two large dogs. I asked her to let me know when she got settled somewhere else, because I know she is not going to be allowed to sit on the sidewalk for long. My next stop was our PO Box. All that I found there were two letters from our storage company telling me of rent increases beginning April 1st. Our storage fees, for 2-10x20 units will now be $574.00 per month. That is a big expense for us but we really don't have a choice. So far, I can't find anywhere with better prices, in an area that will work for us. I wanted to try to get rid of one of the units but I just don't have anywhere to store what is in that unit. I will keep looking and hoping we can do better... Bottled waters, flavored drink packets, USB-C charging cords, handmade pet jacket, Benadryl caplets, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Twins, 2-13-pound bags of dog food, bully sticks, esophagus chews and collagen chews were shared.

Friday's Furry Friends 2-27-2026

It is hard to believe we are still in winter as the temperature was expected to be in the 90's! It was already heating up when I left the house….I received an early morning text from someone needing dog food. She stays on the Eastside, near the Path of Life Community Shelter. We agreed to meet, on the street, at the end of the field where she stays. We visited and I provided supplies. From there, I drove to the kennels by the shelter. The gentleman who was in charge of the kennel area is no longer working there so things were different today. It used to be that everyone would take their pets out, every Friday, so the kennels could be thoroughly cleaned. When I arrived, only one person was out with her dogs. Another brought hers out, after awhile and then I visited with a puppy that stays with someone in their car. I visited pets, provided supplies and then went home. I had an 11Am zoom meeting to prepare for. After the meeting, I had lunch and then got to work at my desk... Bottled waters, USB-C charging cords, Benadryl caplets, chicken jerky treats, individual bags of dog treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, 20-pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, rope toy, squeaky ball, squeaky dog toys and collagen chews were shared.

Thursday's Treasures 2-26-2026

Five of the six pets, that received 'the works' yesterday, were put in rooms at the Jurupa Valley Motel6. I went to check on them this morning. I did not go to one of the rooms because my allergies were acting up and there was a cat in there but I did speak to the companion on the phone. Her cat was recuperating nicely. The other pets seemed to be as well, although one of them had an upset stomach last night. That pet was not interested in treats but she was drinking water and going to the restroom so I don't see there being any problems with her once all of the drugs have worn off. When I left the motel, I stopped for fuel and then went to our PO Box to pick up a donation someone sent from Chewy. I returned home for a bit, went to get my nails done and then went back home for the rest of the day. I worked on filling up the spay/neuter appointments for March 4th and 11th. I answered emails, texts and calls as well as updated our social media... Bottled waters, flavored drink packets, Premier protein drinks, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, individual bags of treats, Inaba Twins, Kabob chew sticks, collagen chews and bully sticks were shared.

#2,465,66,67,68,69 & #2,470 Get 'The Works' 2-25-2026

February had four Wednesdays which meant we had 24 spay/neuter appointments. I am happy to say that we only had one no-show so we got 23 out of the 24 in! We had six pets scheduled, and confirmed, for 'the works' today. There were four female dogs, one male dog and one female cat... The morning started with calls and texts from people telling me they were running late. I had a doctor's appointment so I was concerned about how late they might be but everyone showed up within thirty minutes of when they were supposed to arrive. I was able to fit four of the dogs with jackets and provide needed supplies, before I had to leave. Because of the spay/neuter event going on, it was especially busy at Riverside County Department of Animal Services and I did not have time to stick around while each of my pet's got checked in. I left the paperwork with each companion and told them, and animal services, to call me if they needed further assistance. Five of the six pets will be spending at least one night at the Jurupa Valley Motel6. I will be checking on them tomorrow. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards, fleece blankets, slip lead, Max and Neo medium dog collar, large leash, handmade pet jackets, 17-pound bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, wet cat food, 3-20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 13-pound bag of dog food and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.

Tuesday's Treasures 2-24-2026

Before starting my daily travels, I went to our PO Box to pick up a c donation someone sent from Chewy. I guess it was too early, because they had not sorted everything and could not find it. They suggested I return tomorrow. When I left there, I drove around a few areas in Jurupa Valley where I had seen people with dogs when I was on my way home yesterday. I did not have time to stop then but I wish I did. I could not find anyone today. I also found out that someone who has helped me many times with getting people to spay and neuter, or making sure they showed up for appointments, is no longer staying where she has been. She was one of the few people, with a working phone, in the river bottom near Animal Services. She said she had to leave when they bulldozed everything. I spayed/neuters a few cats for her as well as the dog she has with her. I was sorry they left before I was able to say good-bye... I did not have any actual plans for today so I just drove and made my first stop in Rubidoux. From there, I went through Fairmount Park. Nobody was around with pets so I continued on to the downtown Salvation Army where I did find someone with her two dogs. When we were done, I drove through the park one more time but no luck then either so I went home. I loaded supplies for the pets being spayed/neutered tomorrow, ate lunch, and then worked at my desk... Bottled waters, boxes of tissues, small bag of dog food, Inaba Twins for dogs, simply cesar chicken for dogs, wet dog food, chicken jerky treats, kabob chew sticks, collagen chew sticks, rope toys for dogs and squeaky dog toys were shared.

Monday On The Move 2-23-2026

I was unable to find anyone on the streets, with pets, yesterday but I did have a fundraising dinner meeting at my home last night. I am feeling hopeful that we may actually be able to have a couple of fun events in celebration of our 14-year Anniversary... The first part of the morning was spent by the kennels at the Path of Life Community Shelter on the Eastside. I visited with seven pets. I provided supplies for them and a few more. I also met with Tecla Samtoi. She is the woman who makes our pet jackets. I had given her a list of sizes we were in need of and she brough me a big tub full of them. I even gave away two of the jackets while I was there. When I left that location, I drove out to our storage units. I dropped off some of the jackets and picked up more pet food and waters. I had planned on going to one more location but got a notification that a delivery was being made to my home and went there instead. My afternoon was spent as it usually is at my desk. All six spay/neuter appointments for Wednesday have been confirmed and sent in so I have a list going for the following week. Hoping to end the month on a productive note! Bottled waters, large Max and Neo dog collar, handmade pet jackets, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, collagen chew sticks, Inaba Twins, individual bags of dog treats, Individual bags of dental chews, wet dog food, 2-20-pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 3.5 pound bag pf Pedigree for small dogs, small bag of freeze dried dog food, collapsible pet dish with leash clip, large stainless steel pet dish, squeaky balls and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.

Saturday's Smiles 2-21-2026

I received a call, yesterday, about getting a couple of dogs neutered. While on that call, someone at that location needing pet food, asked if we could meet today. He has a dog and a cat and often feeds other dogs that come over to his camp. All but one are spayed/neutered and we already set up an appointment to get that done. When I arrived, the gentleman had his dog on a leash and there were five other dog sitting with him. It seems they followed him so I made sure they all got treats and a chew stick. They also received a Tiller Tugs tug toy, which was a big hit, as well a squeaky ball that they loved chasing. When I left that location, I drove out to our storage units to pick up pet food, toys and waters. I brought everything home, unloaded most of it and loaded a few things for my next time out. I am not sure if I will be doing my daily travels tomorrow. It all depends on whether or not I get a last-minute request, or requests, for help. I am actually having four people over to my house for dinner tomorrow night so we can discuss fundraisers for our 14-year Anniversary that starts in March... Bottled waters, fudge covered pretzel rods, chocolate caramel pretzel rods, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, Inaba Twins, wet dog food, 20-pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 13-pound bag of dog food, 17-pound bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, wet cat food, squeaky ball, Tiller Tugs tug toy and cat toys were shared.

Friday's Furry Friends 2-20-2026

I spent my morning at two locations on the Eastside. The first was, on Massachusetts, in front of the Path of Life Community Shelter kennels. I visited with eleven of the dogs that were outside and provided supplies for a few of them as well as for a couple of cats. When I left that location, I went to visit one more on University and Victoria. Supplies were given there too. I drove home for a short time and then met Christine Ramirez for lunch. She volunteered for many years and even though she no longer does we still like to catch up. I was having trouble falling asleep last night and only got two or three hours in so it felt good when I got back home and stayed there. I did my daily 'desk work' and looked forward to what I hoped will be a good night's sleep tonight! Bottled waters, large bag of recyclables, pet tear stain wipes, 2-large stainless steel pet dishes, 20-pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 13-pound bag of dog food, wet dog food, Inaba Twins, Inaba Churus, chicken jerky treats, kabob chew sticks, bully slices, buffalo tendons, squeaky ball and plush squeaky dog toy were shared.

Thursday's Treasures 2-19-2026

My morning started at the Jurupa Valley Motel6. I checked on two of the pets that received 'the works' yesterday and visited three pets that were in a room thanks to our most recent fundraiser. During the visit, I provided supplies as well. When I left the motel, I drove home to pick up a box that had to be returned at the UPS Store, got fuel and then went to our PO Box. The woman who makes all of our handmade pet jackets sent us a donation check which was very generous of her especially because she does not ask for any payment for the materials, or her time, in making our jackets. It got cold again so we ran out of a few sizes. She and I are planning to meet again on Monday morning to replenish some of what we have given away. The rain returned today, so I made some calls to offer rooms to people and then started my daily home work routine after lunch... Bottled waters, Premier protein shakes, 8 person tent, sleeping bag, xl tarp, handmade pet jackets, 20-pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Twins, kabob chew sticks and bully sticks were shared.

#2,460, 61, 62, 63 and #2,464 Get 'The Works' 2-18-2026

Two female dogs, two male dogs and two female cats were scheduled for 'the works' today. All six were confirmed. A little before 7am, I received a call saying one of the pets would be arriving forty-five minutes, or so, late. The others were expected on time. Three of the dogs, and the two cats, did make it but one of the dogs did not. I tried texting and calling but got no response. I was hoping for a third week of everyone showing up. That did not happen but we did get five in which I am grateful for. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards, handmade pet jacket, 17-pound bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, wet cat food, 3.5-pound bag of Pedigree for puppies, puppy training pads, wet puppy food, 20-pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company and Inaba meal toppers were shared.

Tuesday's Treasures 2-17-2026

Last night, a couple of texts came in after hours. One had to do with a sick dog and the other had to do with someone needing help to replace some of what was lost in the high winds and rain we had yesterday. I responded to both, this morning. We do not provide medical care, other than spay/neuter services so I could not be of help there but I could do something for the other person. I still have a few tents, sleeping bags and tarps in our storage so I offered to go there and see if I had anything he could use as well as pick up food for his dogs. I do not have people food or clothing so I could not help with that but I could also offer a motel room, for a night, thanks to our recent fundraiser. I did not hear back from the gentleman this morning but I did drive over to our storage units to pick up the items I thought he could use as well as an extra tarp and sleeping bag incase someone else was in need. Unfortunately, I did not hear back from him. Light rain began about that time so I drove near Fairmount Park to see if he might be flying a sign by the freeway offramp. He was not there but I did notice a group of people and pets sitting under the underpass on Fairmount Blvd. When I pulled up, I found that there were a total of three people and ten dogs so I spent some time visiting and providing supplies. When we were done, I drove back out to Jurupa Valley and stopped at our (empty) PO Box. I went home from there. I unloaded a few things, loaded supplies for tomorrow's spay/neuter pet appointments, re-confirmed the appointments and who needs motel rooms. I spoke to a other people, on the phone, about reserving motel rooms to get a break from the weather as well as worked on social media and emails. We have been fortunate to have everyone show up for their spay/neuter appointments, this months, and I am hoping to keep that going... Bottled waters, XL tarp, sleeping bag, doggie waste bags, 20-pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, bully sticks, bully slices, squeaky dog toys, squeaky balls and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.

Monday On The Move 2-16-2026

Mondays are one of the days I normally go to the Path of Life Community Shelter on the Eastside. I was actually on my way there when I remembered it is President's Day. The Access Center was closed and they only open the kennels briefly. I called on of the people who stays there and she told me the dogs were already back in their kennels which meant it was pointless for me to go to that location. I was close to Fairmount Park, when she told me this, so I decided to drive through the park. We were expecting rain but it had not started yet. I saw a couple of people with dogs so I pulled into the nearest parking lot. I visited with three dogs in that area of the park and two more in another. I provided a few supplies too. I was going to drive over to University and Victoria to visit with another but the rain started so I headed back home. I had some work to do around my house and then got busy with our social media, emails, text messages and spay/neuter scheduling breaking in between for lunch... Bottled waters, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Twins, Inaba Churu Rolls, simply cesar chicken dog food, wet dog food, buffalo tendons, bully sticks and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.

Sunday On The Streets 2-15-2026

On Friday, I had something delivered that needed to be assembled. I can do most things myself but this had drawers and a mirror and I did not want to deal with it so I paid for it to be assembled. That was taking place this morning. I did not make any plans for my daily travels, because I was not sure if they were going to arrive on time and/or how long it would take. I needed to pick up something from Ace Hardware and since I had about an hour of free time, I decided to make the best of it. I drove around Rubidoux and other parts of Jurupa Valley looking for people with pets. I was not very successful but I did see a couple of my furry friends in Rubidoux. There was a woman in a tent there who had a male and female dog with her as well as a litter of puppies. I explained why I am never happy to see a new litter of puppies, on my travels, and why the breeding is just making pet overpopulation worse. I also discussed the diseases dogs get when they are unvaccinated and/or not spayed/neutered as well as how hard it is on puppies when they are living outdoors. Not sure anything will become of the talk but I always try. I did eventually get what I needed from the hardware store and then I went back home. I had a long 'to do' list that I got started on right after lunch. We are expecting rain this week so I am sure I will have enough time to complete the list... Bottled waters, Premier protein shakes, fudge covered pretzel rods, caramel and chocolate covered pretzel rods, chicken jerky treats, wet dog food, buffalo tendons and bully slices were shared.

Saturday's Smiles 2-14-2026

It was a busy morning that started with a truck that crashed into a car in the parking lot of the Rubidoux Stater Brothers. I have never liked that parking lot but I forgot to pick up something at he store yesterday and this was on my way to Fairmount Park. Thankfully nobody was hurt but people were definitely upset about the situation. There was a stray dog, running down one of the back roads I was taking to the park. I could not get it to stop running, or even get close, so I continued driving. I was going to the park partly because it is the second Saturday for the month and some people always come to bring used clothing, and other items, for those in need. There are usually dogs around so it gives me an opportunity to visit without having to go looking for them. I had arranged to have a couple of students from Martin Luther King High School meet me there. They did a project for us called 'Thread For A Cure' where people were offered a few different crocheted pets in return for a donation of a dog toy or item we needed. The project ended and we were meeting so the items could be brought to me. I spent some time with the students and had them pass out some of the toys to a few of the dogs that came by. I forgot to give them a thank you note I had written but I did bring some of our bookmarks, some chocolate caramel pretzels and my homemade Valentine's Day M&M cookies. From there, I headed across town to the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. I had a little gift bag for my daughter as well as cupcakes, and candy, for some of the staff. While I was in the lobby, I noticed a dog behind the glass in one of the little viewing rooms. I have seen my daughter post about her, because she needs ACL surgery and there has not been a rescue willing to take her. However, I did not realize she was a dog I have known from the time she was 8 weeks old. She is around 7 yrs. old now. Her companion had finally been housed but she had cancer. When she passed this dog, and her other dog, went to another family member. They eventually wound up on the street with another family member who already had a dog of her own and has trouble walking. She could not handle the three dogs and told me someone took Little Mamas. I don't know who that was but she wound up in the shelter at the end of November. She is a sweetheart but because of her medical, I fear she will never get out without help. I am going to put together some photos and see if I can get some interest for her. I just feel bad that it took me so long to realize that I knew her. I would have tried to help much sooner. When I left Animal Services, I went home for lunch and began my daily work routine at my desk... Bottled waters, fudge covered pretzel rods, Reese's hearts, caramel and chocolate covered pretzel rods, handmade pet jackets, 2 slip leads, medium/large dog collar, puppy training pads, tear stain wipes, chicken jerky treats, 3.5 pound bag of Pedigree for small dogs, 13-pound bag of dog food, Inaba Twins, Pedigree wet puppy food, buffalo tendons, kabob chew sticks, bully sticks, squeaky dog toys and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.

Friday's Furry Friends 2-13-2026

This morning, I made my usual Friday visit to the kennels at the Path Of Life Community Shelter on the Eastside. There were about sixteen pets out there today and I visited with nine of them. I provided a few supplies as well. I didn't stay as long as I wanted to, because I had to get home for a zoom meeting. However, that almost didn't happen. When I went to get in my vehicle, the door would not open. I thought the key fob might have a low battery, or something, but when I looked down I saw it was not hanging from my lanyard. I had just opened the hatch moments prior to that so I knew the key fob had to be nearby. I was able to open the doors through the GMC app on my phone but could not find that thing anywhere. I decided to use the start feature on the app so I could get home but it kept failing. I was so frustrated, especially since the key fob was not on the ground outside the vehicle. I knew it had to be in the vehicle somewhere. I got in, put my foot on the brake and pushed the start button and it started. When I arrived home, I started to take everything out again and then had this weird thought to look in the bag of chicken jerky. That is where it landed! Nobody saw it, because we were searching through containers and under seats. I guess that was my Friday the 13th joke of the day, because I did have a good laugh about it, once I saw where it was hiding. I was very thankful to make it in time for my zoom meeting, get my desk work done and even do a little baking. I had done some, very early this morning, but the freezer was full. These are items I will be giving away tomorrow, after I am done with my daily travels... Bottled waters, doggie waste bags, 13 pound bag of dog food, Inaba Twins, Inaba Churus, buffalo tendons, kabob chew sticks and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.

#2,454, 55, 56, 57, 58 and #2,459 Get 'The Works' 2-11-2026

I did not do my daily travels yesterday. I had to take my dog to the vet and there just wasn't time. I was back to work today. We had six pets scheduled for spay/neuter services. Three to be paid by us and three to be paid by the Riverside County Department of Animal Services Healthy Pet Zone Fund. All were confirmed. There were three female dogs and three male dogs. I really wasn't sure who was actually going to show up, because it rained most of the night and was still raining this morning. Five of the pets arrived, on time, with their companions. One was an hour late, and I needed to leave the clinic so I could go visit my granddaughter for a couple of hours. I don't normally do this but I left the paperwork for the sixth dog and told the clinic they could check her in when she arrived. This particular dog had a litter a couple of months ago and I did not want to chance her getting pregnant again. When I left the clinic, I went home to load up some things, I was bringing to my son's home, and then I got on the road. I visited for a couple of hours and then made the drive back home to finish out my work day. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards, 3-20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, Inaba Twins and wet dog food were shared.

Monday On The Move 2-09-2026

The only stop I made today, for pets, was on the Eastside near the Path of Life Community Shelter kennels. There were a number of dogs, with their companions, but I only visited with five of them. I provided a few supplies but mostly shared chicken jerky treats and bully sticks or buffalo tendons. The reason I did not go anywhere else was because I needed to go out to our storage units for our monthly delivery of pet food from the Star Milling Company. Seth Cox did the pick up, delivery and helped unload. I am so appreciative of him doing this every month. He is always willing to help, when needed, and sometimes his wife Cindy helps as well. I don't need volunteers very often but when I do it is always for something important like the help I was given this morning. When I left our storage units, I drove home to unload some of the pet food and waters I had gotten from storage and made sure I had supplies for my next day of driving around. Next was lunch time and the start of my daily work routine. My dog has a vet appointment tomorrow so I am not sure if I will have time to visit any pets. I will just have to see how things go... Bottled waters, wet dog food, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, 4-17-pound bags of cat food from the Star Milling Company and pet tear wipes were shared.

Sunday On The Streets 2-08-2026

A few people mentioned needing pet food but nobody contacted me to confirm which meant I did not have any specific plans for today. I thought about staying home but it was such a beautiful day that I just got in my vehicle and drove. I went to the Eastside so I could check the spot where 'Scamp' and 'Joey' used to stay with their companion. I have never heard anything else about the gentleman so I wasn't sure if he might have gotten released from the hospital. I was doubtful as I believed he would have contacted me immediately but I had to see for myself. His 'spot' was empty. I just hope he is ok, wherever he is and I am grateful each of his dogs were adopted. I was told they did not go together but whoever did said they had been following their story. I took that as a good sign... My first stop was at the Budget Inn. I spoke to a couple that stay there with their two dogs. They were in need of food. I provided them with that and other supplies as well. Another gentleman showed up with a 3 to 4 week old puppy that someone was giving to anyone who would take it. He didn't have much for it so I gave him a few things too. From there, I went to Fairmount Park. I had spoken to someone earlier and she mentioned parking there. We had a visit and I provided a few supplies. I headed home from there to eat lunch and start my daily work routine at my desk... Saturday's Smiles 2-07-2026

Before leaving the house this morning, I spoke to a teen from King High School. She was part of a group that did a project which included collecting supplies for us. We were trying to figure out where, and when, to meet. I made a plan to have them join me, next Saturday, at Fairmount Park. I look forward to meeting them and seeing what they collected... My first stop, today, was at Fairmount Park. I visited with and provided supplies for three dogs. When I left that location, I drove to Rubidoux where I visited with and provided supplies for two more dogs. I made one stop after that but it was just to pick up a few things I needed from Stater's. I had some business and personal work to do at my desk so I was kept busy this afternoon... Bottled waters, handmade pet jackets, k-9 hip and joint glucosamine chews, medium dog collar, emergency blankets, Inaba Twins, wet dog food, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba meal toppers, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, 13-pound bag of dog food and 20-pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company were shared.

Friday's Furry Friends 2-06-2026

I started my morning at two locations on the Eastside. The first was by the Path of Life Community Shelter Kennels. I visited with pets there and provided supplies for them as well as others. From there I drove up the street and went to where there are a few homeless encampments. I wanted to visit a few dogs there and check on a dog that was neutered over a week ago. They never made it to the motel and I did not have an opportunity to do it then. When I left the Eastside, I drove across town to our storage units where I picked up more pet food and waters. I headed home, after that. I unloaded a few things and loaded others before going inside for lunch and to to begin my afternoon work routine... Bottled waters, doggie waste bags, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Churus, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, kabob chew sticks,13-pound bag of dog food and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.

Thursday's Treasures 2-05-2026

Six pets received 'the works' yesterday but only two were in need of motel rooms. The first thing I did today was check on those two. Each of them seemed to be recuperating nicely. Neither had really eaten but when I took out the chicken jerky treats they were both interested. They still have tonight to rest and then they will check out tomorrow morning. When I left the motel, I drove out to Costco to pick up more bully sticks and a couple other items. From there, I went to get fuel and then check our (empty) PO Box. My final stop was at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. There were a few errors on the paperwork from the six pets that were spayed/neutered. I was going to try and get it sorted out in person but the staff member I needed to speak to is off until Saturday. I went home from there and began my afternoon work routine... Bottled waters, Premier protein shakes, handmade pet jackets, Inaba Churu Rolls, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, kabob chew sticks, stainless steel pet dish, collapsible pet dish with leash clip and Kong ball were shared.

#2,448, 49, 50, 51, 52 And #2,453 Get 'The Works' 2-04-2026

We had six pets scheduled for 'the works' today. There were 3 female dogs, 1 male dog and 2 female cats. Although one of the companion's was an hour late arriving, we were able to get all six pets checked in. One of the dog's was a referral from Feeding Perris Strays. We would like to thank them, for bringing the dog to our attention and thank Maria for transporting again. She has been working diligently, week after week, to help us get a large group of dogs done. They are all living, with their companion, in a homeless encampment. We would also like to thank Working Dogs For Warriors for the work they do and for the dog they brought to us today. This dog belongs to a woman who is deployed. We always help with Veteran's pets so it seemed only right to do so for someone who is active Military and has their pet boarding with Working Dogs For Warriors. Two of the pets services are paid for by us, as will two-two night motel stays. The other four are being covered under the Riverside County Department of Animal Services Healthy Pet Zone Fund. This was a great way to start a new month and I hope it is an indicator of how the rest of the month might go. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards, rug, small dog collar, leash, medium cat harness/lash set, 2-17 pound bags of cat food from the Star Milling Company, wet kitten food, wet cat food, Inaba Churus, Inaba meal toppers, 3.5 pound bag of Pedigree for small dogs, Inaba Twins, wet dog food, 2-20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 13 pound bag of dog food and plush squeaky tog toy were shared.

Tuesday's Treasures 2-03-2026

My first stop of the day was to drop of my monthly 'thank-you' bag for Ralph Torres. He has been maintaining our website for years and I have been delivering little goody bags to his wife's work for awhile now. When I left there, I headed to Fairmount Park where I was asked to meet someone with dog food but he was nowhere to be found. While I was looking for him, and his dog, I did find a couple of other people with their dog so I stopped to visit and provide a few supplies. I drove out to Jurupa Valley, when I left the park. I couldn't find some of the people I was looking for but I did find one. She was on the far side of a field with her dog. I parked, near the street, and walked over to where they were. I provided them with a few supplies and then headed home to start my daily work routine there. Tomorrow is spay and neuter day. We have six pets confirmed and it would be nice to get off to a good start this month... Bottled waters, stainless steel pet dish, chicken jerky treats, wet dog food, Inaba Twins, Inaba Churus, bully sticks, individual bags of jerky treats, bully slices and plush squeaky dog toy were shared.

Monday On The Move 2-02-2026

Monday mornings are spent on the Eastside. The only place I stopped today was in Massachusetts in front of the Path of Life Community Shelter kennels. I visited with pets and provided a variety of supplies to those who needed them. When I left that location, I drove home for a bit and then went back out to have lunch with someone I got to know from Facebook. She has been donating to Taking It To The Streets with Lori and Shira, for quite some time, and we met for lunch once before. I always enjoy going out and meeting people who support my organization and learning more about them. After lunch, I went back home and worked on emails, social media, phone calls and texts... Bottled waters, medium cat harness/leash set, small Max and Neo dog collar, 2 leashes, 2 handmade pet jackets, stainless steel pet dish, collapsible pet dish, chicken jerky treats, 2-20-pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 3.5 pound bag of Pedigree for small dogs, Inaba Twins, Inaba Churus, wet dog food, kabob chew stick, bully sticks and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.

Sunday On The Streets 2-01-2026

I made arrangements to meet with a group of people in Colton, this morning. Only two of the people showed up with their pets. I was able to visit with and provide supplies for their three dogs. From there, I drove across town to make a quick stop for some veggies at Trader Joe's. When I left that location, I headed to our storage units. I had just gone yesterday but wanted to pick up a few more bags of dog food and some cases of Inaba Twins. I went straight home from there, feeling very grateful for the 75-degree temperature I was enjoying outside. I had to go inside to work, soon after, but it was nice while it lasted... Bottled waters, large bag of recyclables, cheese slices, 3 handmade pet jackets, 2 collapsible pet dishes, chicken jerky treats, 2-20-pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, Inaba Twins, wet dog food, bully sticks, Kong balls and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.
