This morning, I drove to the Eastside and parked in front of the kennels at the Path of Life Community Shelter. I visited with all of the nine pets that were outside of the kennels and provided supplies for a few of them. When I left that location, I ran an errand for the charity and then stopped at home for a few minutes. While I was taking my dog out, Lisa Holloway dropped off a raffle Tiller Tuggs raffle bag for our June 14th fundraiser. When I went back out, it was to meet Lyndsay Boyes in the parking lot of Riverside County Department of Animal Services. We were meeting so I could get the raffle baskets she put together for our June 14th fundraiser. From there, I checked our (empty) PO Box and then went home to eat lunch and start working from there... Bottled waters, handmade pet jacket, doggie waste bags, chicken jerky treats, Inaba meal toppers, Inaba Twins, Treatly rawhide free chews and hooves were shared.
We provided 'the works' for six pets yesterday and all of them went to the Motel6, in Jurupa Valley, after they were picked up for, the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. I went to the motel, this morning, so I could check on all of the dogs and visit another dog that stayed in one of the rooms with a dog that just got neutered. I went to each room, visited the pets, provided supplies and then drove to the nearest freeway onramp so I could go to our storage units. I needed to pick up pet food, waters and a few things I want to bring to our June 14th fundraiser. From there, I drove back to Jurupa Valley and checked our PO Box where I was very thankful to find a donation check. I went home, after that, to unload and then restock my vehicle. I also went through my container of collars and leashes to get a better idea of what was in there. This afternoon I worked on a few things for the fundraiser, in addition to my normal afternoon routine of desk work... Bottled waters, Premier protein shakes, large stainless steel pet dish, Inaba meal toppers, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, Treatly rawhide free chews and Savory Prime Butch bones were shared.
Our final count for providing 'the works' in May was 16. In addition to two pets not getting spayed/neutered on the 13th we were unable to do any last week due to the Bain Fire so I am grateful for those we did get done! We had six dog scheduled for 'the works' today. All of them showed up. One of the people showed up an hour late. I had been unable to reach her, because her phone has been off. She actually showed up last week but was sent home due to the Bain Fire so I really hoped she would make her appointments. Even though she was late, it was not too late to get her two dogs checked in so we did not waste any appointments... Five of the dogs were rescheduled from last week, due to the fire, and one was moved up a week when someone had to cancel. The five pets came from out of the Riverside County Department of Animal Services Healthy Pet Zone grant area so we are paying for all of their services as well as the motel. The sixth dog is local and, other than the motel, his costs are covered. I am especially grateful for the 3 year old 'grandma' and her 1 and ½ year old 'granddaughter' that got 'the works' because there have been multiple litters between them. I am also grateful for one of the male dogs that has fathered four litters. I am grateful for all pets that get spayed/neutered but stopping years of breeding always gives me something extra to be thankful for. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards, handmade pet jackets, large stainless steel pet dish, s/m Max and Neo dog collar, Inaba meal toppers, 4-20lb. bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.
It was the second day in a row that I did not have a plan for today's travels. Before heading anywhere, I went by a location in Jurupa Valley to ask if a gentleman needed dog food. His vehicle was there but he was not so I left and decided to go back when I checked our PO Box. I did not go to the Eastside yesterday but I did go today. The stops I made were not at the Path of Life Community Shelter kennels but were nearby. I visited with three dogs that were in a field with people who have tents up there and as I was leaving, I saw a gentleman on a bike with his dog close behind. He had called me for dog food, recently, but his phone was dead whenever I tried to reach him. He said they are staying at Illuminations now. I had him ride over there so I could visit the dog and give him supplies that he could take inside. From there I drove back out to Jurupa Valley, checked our PO Box that just had bills in it, and went to look for the gentleman's car from earlier. He was in there, this time, but both he and his dog were sleeping so I proceeded to go home and start my work day there... Bottled waters, large leash, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba meal toppers, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, individual bags of jerky treats, buffalo tendons, bully sticks, Savory Prime Butch Bones and a squeaky Kong ball were shared.
It was another day without a plan of what to do. Nobody asked for help. I wasn't about to just sit home so I started driving towards Fairmount Park. I made a stop in Rubidoux to find out if a woman had gotten her dogs back yet. I was told she had surgery and they were temporarily being help at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. I found her, in a tent, close to where she used to stay. She did not have her dogs back yet. I told her to let me know when she did. When I arrived at Fairmount Park, I saw a gentleman with a tea kettle on one of the grills and there were two dogs with him. When I realized who they were, I turned around and went back for a visit. As I was about to leave, another gentleman walked up with his two dogs so I stayed awhile longer. All of the dogs received treats and something to chew on. I gave one of the gentleman a few supplies as well. When we were done, I drove around the rest of the park but did not find anyone else with pets so I headed home. I had things on my desk that needed done both personally and for the charity so I started on those. After lunch I worked on those things and reached out to the people whose pets got their spay/neuter appointments postponed last week due to the fire. I was unable to reach them, because phones were not working so I can only hope they remember and keep their appointments. We only provided 'the works' for 10 pets, because of last week's closure so it would be great if we end the month with everyone showing up... Bottled waters, paw rub, Inaba meal toppers, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, individual bag of liver treats, rawhide free Treatly chews, buffalo tendons and Savory Prime Butch Bones, were shared.
I made plans to meet with the only people, with pets, that were in need of supplies. They stay in the river bottom so we usually meet, where the road ends, behind Ryan Bonomino Park. There were supposed to be three people and three dogs. One of the women never showed up with her dog. Another woman showed up with her dog and a dog that stays in the camp next to hers. I had an opportunity to visit with each of the dogs and to provide supplies. From there, I drove over to our storage units. I planned to go tomorrow but then remembered they would be closed for Memorial Day. They are on the same street that the motorcycles come up on when they start the West Coast Thunder ride so they would have had to close for that anyway. I was able to pick up waters and pet supplies and then I headed home. Because it is a holiday tomorrow, there most likely won't be anyone out with their pets at the Path of Life Community Shelter so I am unsure what I will be doing. I know I am meeting a friend for lunch, so she can bring me a basket for our fundraising raffle, but I don't know if I will visit any pets. As the fundraiser gets closer, I may have to take some days off to get things together for that but I will always do my best to make sure the pets are not doing without services or supplies... Bottled waters, pet tear stain wipes, small dog leash, large dog leash, Inaba meal toppers, 2-20lb. bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, rawhide free Treatly chews, buffalo tendons, Savory Prime Butch Bones, bully slices and bully sticks were shared.
My house has smoke/carbon monoxide detectors that are hardwired with battery backup. One of them had to be replaced back in January so when I recently heard a chirping sound, I was familiar with what needed done. Thankfully, I was able to get a neighbor to come over with his tall ladder and disconnect it, after eight hours of the annoying chirping. My ceilings are high and the detectors are not easy to get to. I ordered a replacement as well as three others. I decided to take care of things before it became an emergency. The point of all of this is that I had someone coming to install them for me so I wasn't sure if I would have time to visit any pets. I did not make any plans but the job was done around 10:30am and I decided to drive around for a bit. I didn't find anyone with pets at the first couple of locations I checked but did see a woman walking with a wagon, and her dogs, near Riverside County Animal Services. She looked familiar so I pulled into the parking lot. When she walked down the driveway, I realized I knew her and had provided services in the past. She had two dogs on a leash and one, with a sore foot, in the wagon. I visited with them and provided a few supplies. I also learned a little more about where some of the people went whose encampments burned down. I can't actually get to where they are but at least I know they are safe. While I was in the parking lot, a few people from Cal-Fire were there. I made sure to thank the, for everything they have been doing and continue to do. I also dropped off a little something for my daughter. I had time to run a personal errand afterwards and then I went home. I only slept for two or three hours last night so it felt good to get back there. I still worked on a few things but did more resting than working... Bottled waters, sleeping bag, k9 hip and joint chews, Inaba meal toppers, individual bag of jerky treats, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, Savory Prime Butch Bones and plush squeaky dog toy were shared.
This morning, I made my usual Friday trip to the Eastside over to the kennels at the Path of Life Community Shelter. I visited with six pets and provide supplies to some of them. I had a zoom meeting to get to so as soon as I was done there I headed home for that. The afternoon was spent editing photos, updating our social media, answering emails, texts and calls as well as trying to figure out how to reach out to those who offered to make gift baskets, or donate items, for our June 14th fundraiser. The fundraiser is just three weeks from tomorrow and there is so much work to be done. I want to get moving but need people to communicate with me in order to make that happen... Bottled waters, doggie waste bags, chicken jerky treats, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, Inaba Meal Toppers, bully sticks and buffalo tendons were shared.
The spay/neuter clinic was closed, yesterday, due to the Bain Fire so I did not have to check on any pets at the Jurupa Valley Motel6. I did have two personal appointments this morning. I had planned to drive out to our storage units, before any of the appointments, but the Van Buren bridge was still closed and I did not want to make the long drive around. Thankfully, the bridge was partially opened this afternoon. The first was appointment I had today was a phone appointment with a doctor at Kaiser. When that was done, I headed out to Colton to meet a family that has five dogs and a few cats all of which have been spayed and neutered by us. The couple brought three of the dogs with them so I was able to visit with them. I provided supplies for them and the rest of the pets too. While I was at that location, I spoke to a gentleman in an RV. He had a female German shepherd. I thought I recognized her but it turned out that we had never met. The dog does need spayed so we will be trying to make that happen. In the meantime, we visited, I gave her jerky treats and a bully stick. When I left Colton, I drove back to Jurupa Valley. I stopped at our (empty) PO Box, went home to give my dog a potty break and then went back out for my second appointment. I spent the rest of the day doing work at my desk... Bottled waters, Vetericyn ear wash, chicken jerky treats, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 17lb. bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, wet cat food, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Twins, bully sticks, cat toys, plush squeaky dog toys and Kong balls were shared.
We had six dogs scheduled for 'the works' today but because of the Bain Fire I was not sure what was going to happen. The Sheriff's department let me through a partial road closure so I could enter the parking lot at Riverside County Department of Animal Services. I was there at 6:30am and some of the staff said that the clinic would be open. The companion of two dogs arrived a little before 7am and that was when I got word there would be no surgeries today. I called the other people, who were on their way, and told them we would have to reschedule for next week. I did spend some time with the couple and dogs that were already there. I gave them an ARCO card and some pet supplies. Just hoping everyone can make it back next week. I was only outside for an hour but when I returned home my clothing, and hair, reeked of smoke. I don't live far from the shelter and was on an evacuation warning that started around 7pm last night. It barely got lifted at 8am this morning. I am just grateful that my pets and my home are safe and so very thankful to our firefighters... At 9am, I took my dog to the vet and then went back home for a bit. I did go out, one more time, to make a run to Costco and to see if any of the homeless were around with their pets. I did not find anyone with pets so I called it a day. Truth be told, I was emotionally drained from monitoring the fire all night so I did not feel like doing too much today. I did work on some things for the charity but it wasn't a heavy workload. I am not sure what I will be doing tomorrow. I thought I would be going to the Jurupa Valley Motel6 to check on the six pets that received 'the works' today but with the clinic not operating that is not going to happen. I will just have to play it by ear and see if I can find a way to be of service. If not, then there will always be Friday... Bottled waters, ARCO fuel card, handmade pet jackets, 2 medium dog collars, chicken jerky treats and bully sticks were shared.
My plans, for this morning, were to meet three people and their pets in Colton. While I was there, two other people showed up with their pets too. I did not have enough supplies with me for everyone but made arrangements to meet, on Saturday, at a different location. I was able to visit with, and provide supplies for, five of the pets. I also spoke to two people about spaying/neutering their dogs when we have our next available appointments which are on the 27th. When I left that location, I went home for a few minutes and then went back out to meet a friend for lunch. After lunch, I finished making arrangements for tomorrow’s spay/neuter appointments and did whatever work needed done at my desk... Bottled waters, 2 large bags pf recyclables, handmade pet jackets, chicken jerky treats, 4.5lb. bag of senior dog food, 3-20lb. bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, wet puppy food, wet cat food, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Twins, wet dog food, rawhide free Treatly chews, kabob chew sticks, bully slices, buffalo tendons, bully sticks and Savory Prime Butch Bones were shared.
Today, it was business as usual. When I stopped for fuel, I ran into a gentleman and his dog in the parking and spent a few minutes with them. When I left that location, I headed for the Eastside and stopped by the kennels at the Path of Life Community Shelter. I ran a couple of errands, when I left there, and then I went home... I did not do my daily travels yesterday but I was doing work for Taking It To The Streets with Lori and Shira. Someone who used to work for Inaba has been kind enough to go to their warehouse, every so often, and pick up donations for us. She did so yesterday and brought a carload of Inaba meal toppers. I knew I could not possibly use them all up, before they would be too far past the expiration date so I asked Maria Flores if she would like to meet. She has been making spay/neuter appointments and transporting pets for both Feeding Perris Strays and others that she comes across. She has been doing this for months and I wanted to share some of what I was getting from Inaba, some of what was donated from VSI and some items that I am not sharing but thought she might be able to. I don’t always have everything I need but when I have more than I need, I feel it is important to pay it forward to others who can benefit... Bottled waters, pet tear stain wipes, doggie waste bags, chicken jerky treats, individual bags of salmon dog treats, individual bags of beef liver treats, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Twins, wet dog food, rawhide free Treatly chews, bully slices, buffalo tendons, Savory Prime Butch Bones and squeaky dog toy were shared.
This morning, I arranged to meet a gentleman and his two dogs, in one of the parking lots at Fairmount Park. On my way through the park, I spotted another gentleman on a bench with his dog. I pulled into that parking lot to visit with them and provide a supplies. As I was leaving that parking lot, I noticed a familiar vehicle that ‘houses’ a woman and her two dogs so I pulled in next to them. We visited and I provided supplies, before heading over to the parking lot where I had planned to meet the gentleman with two dogs. They arrived, shortly after and I spent some time with them. I made sure they had supplies, before I left. From there, I made a quick stop at the store to pick up something I needed to make dinner for my daughter tonight and then I went to our (empty) PO Box. I went directly home, after that so I could bake something, eat lunch and then work at my desk. Tomorrow will most likely be ‘pet free’ as I am meeting someone at our storage units to receive a donation from Inaba, I am also meeting someone else who I want to donate a few things to so she can use them out in Perris. If there is time, I may look for pets but if not then that will wait until Monday... Bottled waters, 2 large dog collars, chicken jerky treats, individual bags of chicken jerky treats, individual bags of beef liver treats, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Twins, wet dog food, 6lb. bag of Bil Jac senior dog food, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, rawhide free Treatly chews, bully sticks and Savory Prime Butch Bones were shared.
I had a busy morning that began on the Eastside by kennels at the Path of Life Community Shelter. I visited with seven pets and provided supplies. From there, I drove over to VSI on Palmyrita. They had a pallet of pet supplies to donate to us. We had to take some of it out of the boxes, so everything would fit in. I had not planned to go to our storage units, until Sunday, when I am scheduled to meet someone with donations from Inaba and someone who I originally met through Feeding Perris Strays. She transports pets to their spay/neuter appointments, each week and I want to give her a few things she can share with some of the people, and pets, out in Perris. Even though I really wanted to wait, my vehicle was completely full and I had to go today so I could unload it. There were so many items that I am looking forward to sharing but I have no room at home to store them. I will be posting a video clip tomorrow. Once I got my vehicle unloaded and sorted, I put a few thing back in the hatch for tomorrow’s travels and headed towards home. On the way, I ran into Dollar Tree to pick up a few collars so I would have extras if they are needed for Wednesday’s spay/neuter appointments. That was my final stop... Bottled waters, Benadryl caplets, doggie waste bags, chicken jerky treats, kabob chew sticks, bully sticks, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Twins, wet dog food, xs Kong balls and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.
None of the dogs that were spayed/neutered yesterday needed motel rooms last night so I did not originally have any plans for today. However, I spoke to a woman who is staying at the motel, with her two dogs, and told her I would come for a visit. I stopped there to do that and provide a few supplies. When I left that location, I drove home for a bit and then went back out to run a personal errand, stop in to see a couple of family members and then check our PO Box. I got notification that a donation someone sent, from Chewy, had been delivered but it was not there yesterday. I was thankful to see it was there today... Bottled waters, chicken jerky treats, buffalo tendons, bully sticks, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Twins, wet dog food and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.
We had six pets scheduled, and confirmed, for spay/neuter today but received a call at 4pm last night that two would not be able to make it. They were referrals from Feeding Perris Strays and the group was going to get two pets to fill the appointments that had to be canceled. We were supposed to have four female dogs and two male dogs for ‘the works’. One of the male dogs turned out to be a ‘no show’. His companion did not reply to any calls or texts. The other five dogs were checked in but one of them had a bad skin issue and the vet was not comfortable spaying her. She was given everything else we asked for and medication for her skin issues. Hopefully, her companion will bring her back for her spay, when she is healed. At the end of the day, we had three female dogs and one male dog receiving ‘the works’. All four were from Perris. Two were from Feeding Perris Strays and transported by a volunteer for them. Two were brought to our attention, and transported, by Maria Torres. I would like to thank everyone for their help and Riverside County Department of Animal Services for covering the cost of the services. “One by one we get them done because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter.” Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards Starbucks gift card, homemade cookies, homemade pet jacket, Max and Neo medium dog collar, slip lead, 3.5lb. bag of Pedigree for puppies, wet puppy food, 13lb. bag of dog food, 3-20lb. bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 17lb. bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company and a plush squeaky pet toy were shared.
On my way to the Path of Life Community Shelter kennels, this morning, I saw a small dog running up Kansas Avenue. It had a harness on and was dragging a leash. There were cars behind me so I could not stop but I did turn around when I was able and went back to look for the dog. Unfortunately, I could not find it then or after I left the kennels. I hope it found its way home or at least to safety... One of the things I made plans to do, while I was by the kennels, was meet with Tecla Samtoi. She is the woman who has been making us those great pet jackets for the past few years. She came to meet me and bring more. Even though the weather can be summer like, some days, it can also get cool especially at night. We are very fortunate to have her making those jackets for us! In addition to meeting with her, I visited with, and shared a few supplies, for four dogs outside the kennels. From there, I went to another area of the Eastside where I visited with a dog named ‘Solo’ and provided his companion with a few supplies. My next stop was at our storage units. Seth Cox picked up, and delivered, our monthly donation of pet food from the Star Milling Company. The two of us got everything unloaded right around the time it was really starting to heat up. It was already ninety degrees at 11am. My final stop was our (empty) PO Box. When I arrived home, I unloaded some of what I had picked up, did some work at my desk, enjoyed leftovers from yesterday’s Mother’s Day lunch and then did more work at my desk. I will not be working tomorrow so I can attend to a health issue but will be back to my usual schedule on Wednesday... Bottled waters, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Twins, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Churu Rolls, wet dog food, bully slices, buffalo tendons and bully sticks were shared.
I was planning to take the day off so I could spend time with family, this Mother's Day, but when some of my family members got sick that changed. I did not do much but I did drive out to Colton and meet with a couple of people and their dogs. We visited and I provided them with supplies. When I left that location, I stopped to pick up something from Stater Brothers and then went home. There used to be a place in Jurupa Valley called Pizza Fanzz and I really liked their food. They closed out here but still have a place in Norco. After my daughter went to see her Grandma, she went to pick up the food I had ordered over the phone. We hung out, ate and throughout the day, I organized the spay/neuter appointments for this week, made phone calls, answered texts and emails and got my social media caught up... Bottled waters, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Twins, Inaba Meal Toppers, wet dog food, 2-20lb. bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company and bully sticks were shared.
There is a group that brings items to Fairmount Park on the second Saturday of each month. People often show up, with pets, so I have made it a habit of meeting there as well. This morning, I actually made plans to meet a couple of people, and their pets, so I could bring them supplies. While I was there, I visited with, and provided supplies, for others as well. There were at least twelve pets at that location. I spent time with ten of them. From there, I ran a couple of personal errands and then went home to begin my workday there. I am not sure about tomorrow yet. Some members of my family are sick so all of us getting together doesn't look too promising. I am still hoping to spend some time with my daughter which may still allow me time to go our for a bit in the morning. I think I will figure it out tomorrow. I know I won't be doing my daily travels on Tuesday as I have an HIDA scan scheduled at Kaiser. They said it will take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours so I really can't make other plans. I just have to take it one day at a time... Bottled waters, handmade pet jacket, tear stain eye wipes, paw rub, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Twins, Inaba Meal Toppers, wet cat food, wet puppy food, 3.5lb. bag of Pedigree puppy, 17lb. bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, 2-20lb. bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, bully slices, kabob chew sticks and plush squeaky dog toy were shared.
I had an 11am zoom meeting, this morning, but that still gave me plenty of time to go to the Eastside and visit pets that stay in the kennels at the Path of Life Community Shelter. I stopped for fuel, along the way. $6.00 per gallon. The cost is definitely causing me to limit some of my driving. When I arrived at my destination, I took photos of nine but visited with ten. The pets received treats and some type of chew stick. A few of them also received supplies. When I left that location, I drove back to Jurupa Valley so I could check our PO Box for a handmade jewelry donation that was being sent for our June fundraiser. The donor already sent three pieces and then, so generously, sent more. They were there and I will post photos as soon as I can get to them. After my zoom meeting, I was waiting for a delivery from Whirlpool. I had an incident, last week, where the inside of my microwave burned up. It was new when I moved into my home seven years ago but not under warranty. I use it often and ordered a new one right away. Th afternoon was spent doing desk work and trying to figure out a plan to meet with people tomorrow... Bottled waters, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Twins, Inaba Meal Toppers, bully slices, kabob chew sticks and bully sicks were shared.
Just one of the pets that received 'the works' yesterday needed a motel room. This morning, I went to the Jurupa Valley Motel6 to check on that pet. While I was doing so, I met that dog's feline brother. He has not be neutered, microchipped or vaccinated so I offered to do that for them next week or the following week. I visited with both pets and provided supplies before going to a second motel room. That room was not one we paid for but I have known the woman, and dogs, in that room for many years. I am not always sure where they will be but if they get a room, I try to visit them there. I also provided them with a few supplies, before heading to the store to pick up produce for my desert tortoise. I checked our (empty) PO Box and then went home until it was time to get to an 11am appointment. After the appointment, I went to drop something off at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services and then returned home again. The afternoon was spent doing the work I have to do at my desk... Bottled waters, Premier protein shakes, small harness and leash set, tear stain wipes, paw rub, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Twins, Inaba Churus, Inaba Meal Toppers, bully slices, kabob chew sticks and cat toys were shared.
It looks like we got off to a great start in May. We had six spay/neuter appointments scheduled and confirmed. All six arrived and on time. We had one male cat, one female dog and four male dogs. I would like to thank Maria Flores for the work she is doing that is allowing us to help with those she visits at the homeless encampments, I also want to thank her for driving pets, from Perris, week after week. She has helped us help so many receive much needed services. I would also like to thank the Riverside County Department of Animal Services Healthy Pet Zone Fund for covering the cost of services for so many of the pets we bring in. If the companions reside in certain zip codes, their pets services are covered. If they reside out of those zip codes we pay for the services. This fund has helped us so much. At one point I was afraid we might have to take a break from offering spay/neuter services but a meeting with the director, and others, at Animal Services made sure that didn't happen. Not only that, but they increased our weekly appointments from two to three and then to six. They support, and appreciate, the work we do. I am grateful for all they have done, and continue to do, for us and the community. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards, handmade pet jacket, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Twins, Inaba Churu Rolls, 6 pound bag of senior dog food, 4.5 pound bag pf senior dog food, 3-20lb. bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 2-17lb. bags of cat food from the Star Milling Company, wet cat food, cat toys and plush squeaky dog toys were shared.
I was finally able to catch up with a group of people, and their pets, in Colton. I visited with and provided supplies for the nine dogs that were there and sent a bag of cat food back for a cat we provided services for quite some time ago. I always liked visiting with this particular cat but now that they are at their present encampment I don't get to see him. When I left that location, I drove back out to our storage units for what I hope is the last time until our May 11th Star Milling pickup and delivery. I had someone doing some work at my house so I went back home after I loaded what I needed. I just wanted to be sure to have enough pet food for tomorrow's spay/neuter appointments as well as for the rest of the week... Bottled waters, Inaba Twins, Inaba Meal Toppers, chicken jerky treats, 6-20lb. bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 17lb. bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, wet cat food, bully sticks and bully slices were shared.
This morning, I drove to the Eastside. The first stop was by the kennels in front of the Path of Life Community Shelter. I visited with five pets who stay in the kennels there, at night, while their companion(s) stay in one of the shelters. I visited with those pets and provided supplies to some of them. I also visited with four other pets, on different areas of Massachusetts Avenue before driving a few blocks away to visit, and bring supplies, to a dog and her companion. When I left that location, I dropped off a gift bag of baked goods, and cat items, where the wife of our 'web master' works. I drove out to our storage units from there and picked up more pet food. My final stop was at the Post Office where I needed to check our PO Box as well as the postage for something I was mailing. I may be driving out to meet a group of people and their pets tomorrow so I did not unload anything from my trip to storage. I have someone coming to do a job tomorrow, at my home, and I will be fine on time as long as they are not late. Either way, I will do my daily travels... Bottled waters, large leash, ICE strawberry drinks, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Twins, wet puppy food, 2-13lb. bags of dog food, chicken jerky treats, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, bully slices and collapsible pet dish with leash clip were shared.
I had my vehicle fully stocked, in order to meet a group of people from one of the river bottom outlets. When I arrived, there was only one person waiting with his dog so I started giving him supplies. While I was doing so, a call came in asking where I was. I said I was where we have been meeting for the past few months. For some reason, someone said that we were meeting at a different location and everyone else was there. That was unfortunate as I was going in a different direction when I left the location I was at and was not going to drive to where they were. I had enough food for all of the pets that I thought were coming but no way to give it to them due to the miscommunication. I stayed with the dog and her companion for a bit longer, just incase someone happened to show up but nobody did. I don't like wasting my time or fuel but I had some personal errands to run and I took care of those. Hopefully, we will figure out another plan for the pets that missed out today... Bottled waters, throw rug, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Twins, chicken jerky treats, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, bully slice and Kong ball were shared.
I spent the first part of my morning on the Eastside at the Path of Life Community Shelter kennels. I visited with eleven pets and provided supplies for a few of them. When I left that location, I drove across town to our storage units. I picked up pet food and waters and then proceeded on to the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. I had a few things to drop off for the shelter's kitten program and something for my daughter. From there, I went to our (empty) PO Box and then finally back home. I unloaded some of what I had just picked up and restocked my vehicle for tomorrow's travels. By then, it was time for lunch and to get started working at my desk... Bottled waters, pet tear stain wipes, doggie waste bags, chicken jerky treats, 20lb. bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Twins, KMR1, KMR2, mother baby wet cat food, plush squeaky pet toy, kabob chew sticks, bully slices and bully sticks were shared.
