I wasn't sure what I was going to be doing today. Nobody asked to meet with me and I didn't really want to spend too much time driving all over wasting fuel but I figured I would go out for a bit anyway. On my way to get fuel, I noticed a gentleman going through trash collecting recyclables. He had a dog with him so pulled over to park near where they were. It turned out that the dog was one I had spayed a year or so ago along with another dog. He was in need of dog food but had a long walk back tohis camp. I asked if he wanted to meet in the parking lot of Riverside County Animal Services at 11am and bring the other dog for a visit too. He said yes….Earlier this morning, I had baked cupcakes. Most were going to be dropped off to my daughter and other staff at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services so it was convenient for me to meet the gentleman there. A few of the cupcakes are going to my son's family, when I see them tomorrow. When I had met with the gentleman, I was going to give him a portable pet dish so he could give his dog more water but I had run out so I went into Dollar Tree and bought a few of those as well as some leashes. They don't have the best leashes but they are cheap and work great when I need one in a hurry. As I was putting the items in my vehicle, I ran into another homeless gentleman whose dog I have provided services for, He said he was able to get a motel room for a few days so I plan to visit his dog on Thursday. When I left the store I went home, out of habit, to give my dog a potty break. He has been gone for more than week but sometimes I forget. Not sure if I forget so much as I don't want to believe it. In any case, I didn't stay long and then went back out a second time. I dropped off the cupcakes at Animal Services and met with the gentleman I had seen earlier. He had both of his dog with him this time. I provided the supplies he needed and then I returned home for lunch and my afternoon work routine at my desk... I started my Monday, as I usually do, on the Eastside in front of the kennels at the Path of Life Community Shelter. I visited with seven pets and provided a few supplies. When I left that location, I drove home to get Wednesday's spay/neuter appointments emailed to Riverside County Animal Services. From there I went to our storage units to pick up pet food and waters, dropped off cookies for a friend's daughter and then met a couple of my friends for lunch. When I returned home, I got busy at my desk and I began scheduling spay/neuter appointments for the following week... I was not asked to meet with anyone but I still went out to do my daily travels. I received a call from Riverside County Animal Services about a homeless woman's dogs. They were there as part of a program but she was supposed to go pick them up and she didn't. I was told they would be put up for adoption. I went looking for her today but could not find her. I did find some people who knew where she was and they said they would let her know. I visited with their dogs and another dog that showed up, with his companion, while I was there. My main concern is that I know one of the woman's dogs has a temperament that will keep her from getting adopted. I have known her since she was a puppy. She is fine with me but she is dog aggressive, with dogs that are not her family, and can be people aggressive too. I am hoping the woman went down there to get the dogs out today. I will keep checking on that. When I left that location, I went to pick up a seedless watermelon for my tortoise (and me) and then headed home to start my work routine there... The only plan I had for today was to meet a couple in Colton. We provided 'the works' for their dog and their cat. They don't bring the cat up for a visit but they do bring the dog and I was able to spend a little time with her. When I left that location, I received a call from the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. Nobody had called me to get payment for the spay/neuter services this past Wednesday so they were calling now. I was driving and said I would just stop in and pay the invoices in person, as soon as I was done on the streets. I made a stop at Fairmount Park where I visited with four pets and provided a few supplies. From there, I drove out to Jurupa Valley to check our PO Box. There were four cards there. Three were for the loss of my 'Sammy' and one was to tell me of the passing of a dog I met back in 2012. (I told a bit of his story on social media earlier today.) When I left that location, I drove over to the Riverside County Department of Animal Services and took care of the invoices. I went home after that so I could make myself lunch and start working at my desk... My day began on the Eastside, in front of the kennels, at the Path of Life Community Shelter. I caught up with an old friend, made a new one and visited six the pets I usually see whenever I am there. I visited each pet and provided supplies. I spoke to a woman who is caring for a couple of small puppies and let her know when they would be old enough for 'the works' and then I left that location. I needed to pick up a few things at the store so I went there and then made a brief stop at home. When I went back out, I checked out PO Box and looked for someone I had not seen for awhile. She was not around, and nobody really knew where she was, so I called it a day. I returned home in time for lunch and then got busy at my desk... This morning, I went to the Jurupa Valley Motel6 to check on four of the pets that received 'the works' yesterday. I visited with, and provided supplies for, two of the pets but nobody answered the door where the other two were staying. When I was getting ready to leave, I saw a woman in the parking lot who happened to be someone I knew from back in 2012 when I first started going out on the streets, before becoming a non-profit. I knew her mom and aunt back then but both have passed away. The woman had her mom's dog with her. I can't recall the last time I saw him but he is at least fifteen now. He is deaf and has some other issues. I don't think he remembered me but it made my heart happy to see him. The woman also had other dogs with her. Two of them belong to a gentleman who is now in prison. We provided 'the works' for both but I had not seen them in a few months. I now know why…….When I left the motel, I drove across town to our storage units to meet with a woman who used to work for Inaba. She was bringing me some meal toppers and Churus. I was also meeting Teresa Quintana. I had a bunch of supplies, I wanted to share with her. We unloaded the Inaba and I was able to share some of that as well. Her van was pretty full by the time we were done, as was my own vehicle. I went home from there to unload some of what I had picked up, clean my tortoise's pen, eat lunch and then get to work at my desk... There were twenty-four spay/neuter appointments available to us this month. We had two no shows so our June total was 22. Those are twenty-two pets that will not be adding to pet overpopulation in the homeless community or our community at large... We had six pets scheduled and confirmed for 'the works' today. There were four female dogs, one female cat and one male kitten. The companion of the cat and the kitten said that someone let the cat our of her carrier, this morning, so she just had the kitten with her. Everyone else showed up which meant four female dogs and one male kitten got 'the works'. The first thing I did this morning was drive out to the Pet's Place. I went to pick up the ashes/paw print of 'Naughty'. I had texted with her companion and we agreed to meet over at Fairmount Park. While I was there, I met a couple with two senior dogs. I am usually good with dog's names but as soon as I got back in my vehicle, I realized I could not recall the name of one of them, I did remember the one they called 'Old Man', because he was barking at me from the minute I walked near where they were hanging out. That all changed as soon as the treat bag was opened and then he just barked if I wasn't doling them out fast enough. When I left there, I drove through the entire park but did not find anyone else with pets so I drove around Jurupa Valley for a bit. I could not find one of the people I was looking for and was told another is in jail but I did stop for a gentleman and his dog right after I checked our PO Box. Definitely not the most productive day but I know the person who was waiting for his dog's ashes was thankful for what I was able to do for him. That was only made possible because of the kindness and generosity of our supporters. Tomorrow is spay/neuter day. We have two cats and four dogs scheduled for 'the works'. I went home from there, made a few calls, fed my tortoise, got all of my spay and neuter appointments sent in for Wednesday and then went to meet a very dear friend for lunch. After lunch, I spent time doing work at my desk for the charity and for me personally. I also made plans to meet with someone who does a lot for organizations that need emergency type help with pets they come across. I have items for her. We are also supposed to meet at my storage units this Thursday to see if there is anything else she can use. Tomorrow morning, I will be picking up the ashes and paw print from 'Naughty' and looking for her companion. After that, I am not sure what I will be doing... I thought I was meeting someone at Fairmount Park this morning but things did not go as planned. There was someone, in Colton, that needed food for his dog and his cat so I called him to see if he was able to meet. He said he was so I went there next. When he arrived, he had four dogs with him. He had his dog and three others that followed him on his bicycle. I was able to provide the gentleman with what he needed for his dog and cat as well as treats and chews sticks for the other dogs too. Each one was a dog we have provided services for. When I left that location, I drove over to our storage units to pick up pet food, waters and a few things I am going to give to someone tomorrow night. I drove around a few areas of Jurupa Valley but the only person I saw with pets was somewhere I could not drive up and park so I just went home. I unloaded what I did not need for tomorrow, ate lunch and then got busy at my desk... It is going to take me awhile to deal with the grief of losing my dog 'Sammy'. I am going to do my best to carry on as usual in the meantime. Nobody made plans to meet with me today so I did what I usually do and just started driving around. I drove through Rubidoux first. I did not find the person, and pets, I was looking for but I did find people and pets I haven't seen in quite some time. I visited with a total of six pets there and discussed providing 'the works' for a couple of the pets I had not met before. I provided supplies and then headed over to Fairmount Park. I did not find anyone there with pets nor did I find anyone in a few areas of Jurupa Valley so I just checked our PO Box and then went home. I fed my tortoise, ate lunch and then got busy at my desk... I was not originally going to do my 'daily travels' as I knew today was going to be a very sad day for me personally but I decided to go out for an hour, or so, anyway. When I got to the Path of Life Community Shelter kennels, on the Eastside, they were already putting the dogs back inside. Because it is a holiday, they were put back early so it turned out to be a waste of time and fuel. However, there is a gentleman who stays a couple of blocks away at Illuminations with his dog and he had previously asked for dog food. I drove over there and we met. When I left that location, I drove around Fairmount Park, Rubidoux and Jurupa Valley for the next forty-five minutes with no luck and headed home to face a very difficult decision that was made... Sixteen years ago, I spent a long time trying to catch a loose dog on Van Buren Avenue. When I finally caught him, I turned him in to the shelter. I checked on him daily and when I was told he was going to be euthanized, for his behavior, I signed a waiver and my daughter and I were there to adopt him. He was then added to our pack. Our dogs have all lived long lives. I lost two over the past six years. It was now time to let him go and Serene Passages came to the house today to help facilitate his passing. I am grateful for all of the dogs I have had from the time I was a child until now. My best friend, when I was just four years old, was a rescued boxer and I have loved rescue dogs all my life. There are so many dogs that lose their lives in the shelter, because nobody cares enough to adopt them. I hope one day to see that those lives become less and more people Adopt and Don't Shop... Two of the pets that received 'the works' yesterday, were able to go to the Jurupa Valley Motel6 so that is where I started my day. In addition to those two dogs, we had another dog in a room with her companions. The dog was not recently spayed but the couple was promised a room for another reason and they were able to go last night as well. I visited all three dogs. The two that received 'the works' seemed to be recuperating nicely and the third dog was happy for a visit. I provided a few supplies as well. When I left the motel, I went home for a bit and then went back out so I could make it to an 11am appointment. I drove around Jurupa Valley, for a bit, after my appointment but did not see anyone with pets... When all was said and done three male dogs, two female dogs and one male cat received 'the works' today. Thanks to the Riverside County Department of Animal Services Healthy Pet Zone Fund the cost of their services was covered and we just took care of the expenses of those who were able to stay at the motel. Thanks to Alexis, Paige and Maria four pets were brought to our attention, transported to and from their appointments and received much needed services... We originally had six pets scheduled. Five dogs and one cat. I was unable to confirm one of the dog's so, last night, we switched it out for another dog from out in Perris which brought us back to six. At 7am, I received a text saying one of the people I had set up wound up having no ride but then he texted back, soon after, and said he would actually arrive in ten minutes. This is the second week in a row that all of the pets we scheduled have made it to their appointments. I also found out that the one I thought was a no show on the third was actually in a car that I had seen in the lot that morning. The driver had gotten into a fight with him and the dog had jumped out of the vehicle. A gentleman whose dog I was getting services from us that day grabbed the dog and returned it to the car. I now know that the person inside the car, and the dog, had been there for me. It is a long story as to why he never made it inside for services but we will try to reschedule now that I know what happened. For today, I am grateful everyone made it. My first stop, this morning, was in front of the kennels at the Path of Life Community Shelter on the Eastside. I visited with three pets and provided a few supplies. As I was getting ready to leave, someone walked over to my vehicle with her dog so I got back out to visit them and provide supplies that they needed. From there I went to the bank so I could deposit the money we took in from the raffle at our fundraiser yesterday. After that, I drove across town to our storage units so I could drop off the poster boards, baskets and other items we used for the fundraiser. I went home from there to check on my dog. He is a senior, with health issues, and has not been doing well. He was having a rougher morning than usual and I felt the need to get back to him. It isn't like I can do much for him but it is clear his days are becoming numbered and I worry about him being alone too long. Thankfully, he was sleeping when I first got home. He woke soon after so I was glad I came back when I did. For some reason, the google assistant in my vehicle has not been working properly so in addition to my afternoon desk work, I spent quite some time trying to figure out how to resolve the issue. Every time I thought I had it fixed, it would go back to the same error message. I have been used to answering calls and texts, hands free, for a few years so it is frustrating not being able to make/take calls or receive/respond to texts. I am sure I will figure it out eventually but not today! The day started with sad news that a vehicle struck and killed a dog. I was asked if we would cremate her so her companion could have her ashes. I posted a photo and by lunch time, we raised enough to cover the cost for this sweet gentle giant. We were expecting temperatures in the 90's, again today, so I wasn't sure if people would be showing up to Fairmount Park like they usually do the second Saturday of each month. I drove down there anyway and found a few people with their dogs. They received treats and chew sticks as well as a few supplies. When I left the park, I went straight home. I needed to unload everything from my back seat to make room for some of what I am transporting to the fundraiser tomorrow. Thankfully, Tracy Bowen will be helping me with whatever I cannot fit in my vehicle. I did my usual afternoon tasks at my desk. I also had to take care of a few more things so everything is ready to go tomorrow. I am hoping I did not forget anything and that our fundraiser is a huge success! After doing a little baking, I started my morning like I do every Friday morning by driving to the Eastside. I parked by the kennels in front of the Path of Life Community Shelter but nobody was out there with their dogs. Friday is the day they are supposed to deep clean their kennels which means everyone is usually there but that was not the case. One woman did show up, with her two dogs, and I spent a few minutes with them. When I realized nobody else was going to come out, I left and drove across town to our storage units. It was 9:30am and already 80+ degrees so I was thankful to get it over with sooner than later. I loaded up more pet food, waters and a couple of items I need for Sunday's fundraiser and then I went home. I unloaded whatever I don't need for tomorrow's travels and then took my dog out for a potty break. Soon after, I headed back out so I could pick up something from the store and check out PO Box. My first stop today was at the Jurupa Valley Motel6. Five of the six dogs that received 'the works' yesterday took my offer to go to the motel so their pets could begin recuperating. The other dog's companion decided to spend the night somewhere else. I visited with the five dogs that received 'the works', two puppies that are from one of the female's we had spayed and then another dog who happened to be in a room with her companion. We actually provided her with 'the works' quite some time ago. I provided a few supplies and discussed spaying/neutering other dogs that some of the people have. When we were done, I drove across town to our storage units to meet with Cindy and Seth Cox. Cindy was delivering the three beautiful gift baskets she made for the raffle at Sunday's fundraiser and both were delivering our monthly donation of 170 pounds of cat food and 600 pounds of dog food from the Star Milling Company. They helped get everything unloaded too. One of the gift baskets had chocolate in it and it was already heating up so I went straight home from there. I took the gift baskets into the house and unloaded most of the pet food I had put in my vehicle. I will need to go back tomorrow or Saturday to get more pet supplies and waters, I just didn't have room to put anything else in my vehicle today. When I got home I did some work at my desk, had lunch and then went back to work until I was caught up on social media, emails, texts and phone calls... I had not made plans to mee tup with anyone today so I did what I usually do, when that is the case, and I just started driving. I did not find anyone with pets in Rubidoux and I was about to give up on finding anyone at Fairmount Park when I spotted a couple of dogs tethered to a vehicle someone was working on. I drove into the parking lot and spent some time with them. The dogs need spayed/neutered but their companion has to get his vehicle in good working condition to be sure they can make their appointments. He isn't having the best luck as of yet but the offer remains for when he does. When I left the park, I drove over to University and Victoria, on the East Side, to visit a dog I did not have time for yesterday. I had planned on visiting with two other dogs and their companions but I could not reach them by phone. I had a bag of clothes to donate to the clothes closet they have for the Hot Meals Program at Calvary Presbyterian Church. We used to volunteer there and Taking It To The Streets with Lori and Shira held free 'street stores' in the parking lot there as well. My life took a turn, eight years ago, and then I had to move from where I was living. I am out in Jurupa Valley now but our storage units are closer to where I used to live. I don't have the help I used to back then so I had to stop our events at the church. I always enjoyed them and we were able to provide so many people, and pets, with supplies that they needed but it just isn't possible anymore. I am thankful the church still has that program and I was happy to donate clothing that people who need some can come and get at no cost. When I left the church I did some driving around Jurupa Valley. I saw multiple people with dogs but there was never anywhere I could pull over and park so I was unable to stop. I did go to our PO Box where all I found a grant denial letter. Hopefully the next letter will include an approval and a check! Tomorrow is spay/neuter day so as soon as I returned home, I loaded supplies for those pets, ate lunch and then spent time doing desk work... I arrived at the kennels, by the Path of Life Community Shelter, at 8:45am. There were five dogs outside and companions of two of them. I was sad to see, and hear, how hard it still is for them over there. The trash can outside the kennels was overflowing and they did not have any doggie waste bags or cleaning supplies for the people to use. The kennels became a problem, after the person who was taking care of things in there was fired. It has been bad ever since, even though I have spoken to staff on multiple occasions. I tried calling downtown and speaking to Philip Falcone's office but the person who answers his phone said she was not going to provide me with information because I am not a client. I have had help from the Ward 1 council member for a long time but I guess that ended. I told the people to go to a city council meeting and ask to speak so they can share about the ongoing issues that claim to get fixed but then aren't. I also suggested they bring some of the photos and videos they have taken. In the meantime, Mike Gardner has been kind enough to listen and try to help where he is able... When I left that location, I stopped a bit further up Massachusetts Avenue where I saw a woman walking with her dog. I recognized them but it had been awhile since I had seen them. We had a visit and I provided a few supplies before running a couple of errands for things that needed to be done for our June 14th Fundraiser. On my way home from doing that, I stopped at our (empty) PO Box and then to the store to pick up produce for myself and my tortoise. When I returned home, I had lunch and then started my afternoon work routine... I was on the streets today but it was not for my typical daily travels. This morning I went to Back To The Grind in downtown Riverside. The purpose of this was to do a promo for the benefit The Dangers are doing for us on June 14th which is next Sunday. I was meeting with Mark Menezes (aka Mark from Riverside), Mike Geoghegan and one of the homeless who was bringing dogs. We actually had two people with three dogs show up. I visited with all of them, and provided a few supplies, but we only used two of the dogs in the video. Things went well and I have Mark, Mike, the person who brought the dogs and of course the well behaved dogs to thank for that. When we were done, I ran a personal errand and went home to start continue my work day there... The only actual plans I had today, for my daily travels, were to meet a couple in the parking lot of Riverside County Animal Services. They needed supplies for their cats and their dog. I also brought them a couple of sleeping bags since they lost their belongings during the Bain Fire. When I left that location, I drove to our PO Box where I found some gift cards for our fundraising raffle. Because we already have thirteen baskets and two guitars for the 14th, I am starting a collection for our comedy fundraiser in October. After checking the PO Box, I drove around Rubidoux, Jurupa Valley, Fairmount Park and a couple of areas in Riverside. I did not see anyone with pets so I was back home by 11am. I went out shortly after to meet a friend for lunch and then I returned home. I am still coordinating things for the fundraiser as well as scheduling spay/neuter appointments, answering calls, texts, emails and updating our social media. I had something planned for last Sunday that fell through but we rescheduled for tomorrow. I will share, once everything is done... I started my day at the kennels in front of the Path of Life Community Shelter. I visited with six dogs that stay in a kennel at night and one whose companion is trying to get into the shelter and then her dog will be able to stay in a kennel too. I visited with pets and provided a few supplies for most of them. When I left that location, I drove across town to our storage units. This time it was not to pick up supplies for my daily travels but rather to gather things for the Iowa Avenue fire victims. I am no longer doing our free 'street stores' and there were many new backpacks just sitting in storage. I packed quite a few of them up, along with a large suitcase and drove it over to my friend Tracy Bowen's house. We texted last night and she said she was going to the event at Farmhouse Collective this afternoon where there is a large donation drive going for the fire victims. She will be dropping off the suitcase, and backpacks, for me. When I was done at Tracy's, I made a quick stop at our (empty) PO Box and then headed home. I took my dog out for a potty break, did some work at my desk, ate lunch and then spent the afternoon doing more work at my desk. I only have arrangements to meet with one person tomorrow so I am not sure how the day will go but I will make an effort to be of service... Three of the five dogs that received 'the works' yesterday were starting their recovery at the Jurupa Valley Motel6. At 9am, I arrived to start checking on them. The first room I visited was for the dog that arrived at the clinic yesterday after I had already left. They normally don't do intake if that is the case but I guess it is good they did this time. The dog is very withdrawn and in heat. The motel room will give her a break from the male dogs around her encampment as well as a quiet place to decompress for a bit. While I was visiting with her, I also visited with another dog that was there. We provided 'the works' for her, awhile back. The second room I went to was where one of the male dogs was staying. He was a little leery of me but was not having any issues taking treats and seemed to be recuperating nicely. When I went to the third room, there was no answer at the door. I called the person to let him know I was outside the room but he said he had already left. I tell everyone I will be at the motel at 9am but I go to each room so clearly I cannot be at all of them exactly at 9am. The gentleman said he waited for a few minutes and then left. If he had sent me a text me telling me he was in a hurry, I would have gone to his room first. I have done other dogs for him and was disappointed I was unable to check on this one but I know he will keep an eye on him. I did notice a vehicle in the parking lot that belongs to someone who has two dogs so I called her. She was getting ready to go check on the status of her housing but did give me a few minutes to visit with the dogs and I provided them with a few supplies. I went home from there. At 11am, I went back out for a nail appointment, checked our PO Box and then returned home for lunch and to work at my desk... We had six pets scheduled, and confirmed, for 'the works' today. There were four male dogs and two female dogs. All four of the males made their appointments but the people with the female dogs were no-shows, when I left at 8am. However, at 4pm, I received a call from the companion of one of the female dogs. It seems she showed up, after I left and they let her get checked in so I never met her or the dog to get any photos or video. I did add another motel room to the reservations so I will meet the dog in the morning…. Thank You to the two women who drove pets in from Perris. Your time and efforts are appreciated. At 8am, I left and went home until it was time to go and meet Alison Berry Davis at our storage units. I needed to pick up pet food. She was dropping off a raffle basket for herself and something from her sister's quilting company, for our June 14th fundraiser. When I left our storage facility, I stopped to pick up some clear gift basket bags and then went home. I unloaded some of the pet food and restocked my vehicle for tomorrow, before having lunch and beginning to work at my desk. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." I went out early this morning to get fuel and pick up produce for my tortoise. I was going to go home afterwards and then figure out what I wanted to do today, because I did not have any set plans. While I was getting fuel, I received a call from someone needing dog food. He was not too far from the CircleK so I told him I would go meet him. I brought what the dog needed as well as a few other items. While we were visiting, I noticed there were two other dogs towards the front of the field. I asked if their companion was there too and he was. At first, I could not tell if the dogs were male/female or spayed/neutered. Their companion walked across the field and I asked. He said they were. The one dog was not tethered and followed him across the field where he patiently waited for the gentleman to return. He ate a few treats but sat and watched for his companion. The other dog was crying so I walked over and gave him some treats too. When their companion returned, I gave him my contact card and some supplies for the dogs. When I finally left that location, I stopped to pick up the produce I needed and then went home. After I had my dog settled, I went out for a second time. I stopped in Rubidoux but the woman who I went to see did not have her dogs with her so I continued on to Fairmount Park. I parked in one of the lots there to visit with a gentleman and his two dogs and to remind him that he needs to schedule their spay/neuter appointments. When I left the park, I drove back to Jurupa Valley to check our (empty) PO Box and then back home. I loaded supplies for tomorrow's spay/neuter appointments, had lunch and then got busy at my desk... I started the morning on the Eastside at the kennels by the Path of Life Community Shelter. There were six dogs out there and I visited with four of them. I provided supplies for a few as well. When I left that location, I made a quick stop at Clark's Nutritional Center and then headed home. My friend Tracy Bowen was coming over at 10am to help wrap the gift baskets to be raffled at the June 14th fundraiser. We are still waiting for a few items to come in. We are planning a comedy fundraiser in October and may save some of the baskets for that, if we feel we have enough to do so. The great news is that we now have a second guitar to raffle. That one is an acoustic guitar. We hope the two guitars will be an incentive, for those musically inclined, to purchase raffle tickets. Tickets will sell for $20.00 each or 3 for $50.00 for one of the guitars. The Second Guitar raffle ticket price will be determined soon. Gift Basket Raffle tickets will sell for $5.00 each or 6 for $20.00. In California, we are not allowed to sell the tickets online so for now it looks like they will just be available at the event. We are working on different ways one can pay for them. My apologies for not having all the answers, at this time, but we have not done an 'in person' event in nine years and someone else took care of everything for that one. I know things will be all worked out, the day of, and I am sure all will have a good time! The plans I had to meet some people, and their pets, at North Park today worked out just fine but the plans for after that fell through at the last minute. We were originally going to work on something for the June 14th Fundraiser. Everything was set up but due to circumstances beyond my control it did not happen. We were able to reschedule for next Sunday but that left me with time on my hands this morning. I did need to go back to our storage units to pick up more pet food and waters so I did that. Afterwards, I drove around a few areas of Jurupa Valley looking for people with pets. I saw a few lined up on VanBuren but there was nowhere to stop and park. I did eventually run into a gentleman, and his dog, over by the old Albertson's. The companion was sleeping when I arrived but he woke up and I was able to visit with him and his dog. The dog is not neutered so I gave him my card and explained how it would work if we provided the services for him. He already has an appointment for a microchip and vaccinations so I am hoping he decided to give permission for the neuter. I really liked the dog and would love to see him get everything he needs. When we were done, I drove to another area of the parking lot to visit with a different dog and her companion. They received a few supplies as well. By this time I left them, it was time for me to get home to tend to my own dog, unload my vehicle and restock for tomorrow's travels. It was in the mid-eighties so I was happy to do the rest of the day's work in the house where it was cooler...
