#2,248 & #2,249 Get 'The Works'. Friday's Furry Friends 2-28-2025

I had to go out twice today. The first time was at 7:30am to meet someone at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services spay/neuter clinic. This was for the two dogs that were unable to get surgery on Wednesday, due to a problem with the clinic's equipment. I was thankful the companion, who drove from Yucaipa, was willing to drive back here again and that he was even early. Once we got the dogs checked in, I went back home for a bit and then headed back out to the Eastside. I parked by the Path of Life Community Shelter visiting three dogs and one cat that spend their nights in the kennels there. When I left that location, I drove around different areas on the Eastside and then on to Rubidoux but I did not see anyone else with pets. When I went back to Jurupa Valley, I did a little driving around after I checked out PO Box but I did not have any luck then either so I just went home... Bottled waters, ARCO fuel card, 2 large stainless steel pet bowls, collapsible water bowl with leash clip, chicken jerky chews, Wellness wet cat food, Dashi meal toppers, 17pound bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, Inaba Juicy Bites, cat collar, plush squeaky dog toys, buffalo tendons, peanut butter knot chews were shared.

Thursday's Treasures 2-27-2025

I wasn't sure if I was going to go out today. Yesterday, I spent part of the morning and the afternoon at the car dealership. The lease was up on my Terrain and I was going to turn it in. My son drove to Riverside to help me make my decision as far as the next vehicle was concerned. I decided on another Terrain. Prices have gone way up and some of the features I enjoyed on my other vehicle were not available on the newer model. I should say, they were not available without a huge increase in payments. I was more than fine giving up leather seats. I wasn't thrilled about giving up electric controls on the seats being that I have had them for over twelve years but I figured it is not a big deal to move a seat manually. The only feature I am really missing is the rear hatch opening with my remote. I can start the vehicle which I could care less about but I have to pop the hatch open by touch and then I have to reach up and push it down. It is heavy and not so easy to push. I did not realize how often I opened and then closed it either with the remote or by pushing a button on the hatch. In any case, my main concern was figuring out all of the technology so I can drive safely. The fifteen inch screen is great but I have a lot to learn about the features. They wanted to go over all of it with me yesterday but I needed to get home. The point of all of this is that I needed to load my vehicle and figure everything out before doing too much driving so all I did today was go to the motel. I checked on the one dog that was able to get spayed yesterday and then I went back home to educate myself a bit more about programming some things on the vehicle. Tomorrow morning, I will go to Riverside County Department of Animal Services for the two dogs that were unable to be neutered on Wednesday... Bottled waters, chicken jerky chews and bully sticks were shared.

#2,247 Gets 'The Works' and Today's Tails 2-26-2025

What a day! I originally had five pets scheduled for 'the works' today. People are told to confirm by 4pm the Sunday before. The companion of two of the dogs did not and I could not reach her by phone or by text. I finally canceled her appointments early afternoon on Monday which is later than usual. She wound up calling right around 4pm but I had already given the appointments away so we rescheduled her for March 5th. It was actually better for me, because I needed to turn my lease in to the dealer this morning and it helped me be less rushed only have to go to one clinic. When I arrived at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services spay/neuter clinic both parties were there with their dogs. We had two males and one female getting 'the works'. The female is actually from the last litter a mama dog had before we spayed her. She was in the car so I got to visit with her while we waited to get the three dogs checked in. By 8:15am, all three were checked in and I headed home to get everything cleaned out of my vehicle. At 10am, I received a call saying that the oxygen machines went down at the clinic. They had already gotten the one female dog done but canceled all other surgeries. I spent the next four hours at Dutton Motors getting a new lease and trying to make arrangements for the two male dogs to get neutered on another day. Turns out that will be Friday so we will still get them in this month. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelter is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, Premier protein shakes, 2 handmade pet jackets, puppy training pads, 2 Kong leashes, Max and Neo large collar, chicken jerky treats, 20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 3.5 pound bag of puppy food, wet dog food, wet puppy food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs and a peanut butter knot chew were shared.

Tuesday's Treasures 2-25-2025

Yesterday, I spoke to a few people through texts and phone calls. We made arrangements to meet today so they could get pet food and supplies. My first stop, this morning, was by the Legion Hall at Fairmount Park. I met two people there. Each has two dogs and I was able to provide them with what they needed. From there I drove to an a vacant lot in Rubidoux where a woman was staying with her dog and a dog that her granddaughter decided she no longer wants. I had not seen the woman or either dog for quite some time so I was happy to visit and provide a few needed supplies. My final stop was at the post office where there was a donation check in our PO Box. That was a great way to end my daily travels... Bottled waters, Premier protein shakes, chocolate covered pretzel rods, hand made pet jacket, 2 Kong leashes, Max and Neo slip lead, Tiller Tugs leash, chicken jerky treats, 3-20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company,8 pound bag of senior dog food, wet dog food, Dashi meal toppers, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, Inaba chicken fillet, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, peanut butter knot chews k9 hip and joint glucosamine chews and 2 large squeaky Kong balls were shared.

Monday On The Move 2-24-2025

I spent most of my morning on the Eastside. I parked by the Path of Life Community Shelter. I visited four pets that have companions who stay at the shelter and one whose companion stays on the street. When I left that location, I drove over to the Smart and Final Parking lot on Vine Street to meet with someone I had not seen in a few weeks due to her being in the hospital. I used to visit her and another woman along with two dogs but one of the dogs was impounded. Nobody got him out while she was being hospitalized. I was not happy about that but I was happy to visit with the other dog and he seemed happy to. When our visit was over, I provided needed supplies and then went to the nearest freeway onramp so I could drive to our storage units. I picked up pet food and waters and headed home... Bottled waters, chicken jerky treats, 2-20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, Inaba chicken fillet, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, peanut butter knot chew, 6 inch marrow bone, bully slices and 2 large Kong squeaky balls were shared.

Sunday On The Streets 2-23-2025

I went to two different locations today. Both were in Jurupa Valley. The first was in the parking lot of Riverside County Department of Animal Services to meet with someone from the river bottom. We met yesterday but the dog was not with her and I just provided supplies for her cats. The dog got what she needed today, other than a good bath to get rid of the smell of a skunk that sprayed her. When I left that location, I drove out to Agate Park and met with a family who lives in their RV. Theyhave been trying to get housing for so long but nothing ever seems to come together for them. I hope it does in the near future. In the mean time, I will continue bring supplies for their cats and dogs. My last stop had nothing to do with visiting pets. I haven't baked for awhile and if I decide to do so tomorrow, I needed a few things. Whether I bake tomorrow or not, I have the ingredients to make the cookies that are next on my list... Bottled waters, chicken jerky treats, 17 pound bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, 2-20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, Wellness wet cat food, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, Dashi meal toppers, Inaba Churus, Inaba Churu Rolls, Inaba Juicy Bites, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, peanut butter knot chew, bully slices and a large Kong squeaky ball were shared.

Saturday's Smiles 2-22-2025

I got off to a little bit of a late start today due to my 'check engine' light coming on yesterday. The first thing I did this morning was get it checked out. Thankfully, it wasn't anything to worry about so I was able to do my daily travels. My first stop was in the parking lot of the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. I was supposed to meet someone from the river bottom with a cat and a dog. The person showed up but she did not have any pets with her. I normally don't provide supplies, if an animal is not present, but I did give her a few things for the cat and then headed out to the Jurupa Valley Motel6. I was asked to bring wet cat and dog food to a couple who is staying there with their pets. I was also supposed to meet with the gentleman I missed yesterday due to miscommunication. While there, I also met a new dog that belongs to the girlfriend of the gentleman I was meeting. We provided 'the work's for both of his pit bulls but his girlfriend's dog is unaltered. She is planning on getting a female and breeding them. It is a long story as to why but I am hoping she changes her mind after our conversation. When I left the motel, I ran by the post office, checked our empty PO Box and then went home... Bottled waters, chicken jerky treats, individual large bag of jerky treats, 17 pound bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, 20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, Wellness wet cat food, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, Dashi meal toppers, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, peanut butter knot chew, bully slices and plush squeaky pet toy were shared.

Friday's Furry Friends 2-21-2025

A couple of days ago, I received a call from an AC Officer looking to help a homeless gentleman with his dogs. She let him use her phone and I spoke to him briefly. He was not staying far from the Path of Life Community Shelter so I suggested he meet me there this morning. Unfortunately, he was a no-show but I did visit with and provide supplies for four others. From there I drove over to Hunter Park. A gentleman, living in his vehicle with his two dogs, needed dog food. I had not seen them, since we had them spayed/neutered awhile back. I waited for nearly forty minutes but he did not show up so I left and went to meet someone else needing dog food at Fairmount Park. I had planned to go to our PO Box next but the 'check engine' light came on in my vehicle so I went straight home. Every now and then a light pops up on the dash and then goes away. I was hoping if I went home and let my vehicle sit for a bit that this might too. It is a 2022 and the lease is up next week so I am hoping it is just an error but I will wait and see if it is still on in the morning. I have an appointment set up for it to get checked out, if it is. After I made the appointment, I received a text from the girlfriend of the person who was supposed to meet me at Hunter Park. I guess he thought I said Hunt Park so there was a miscommunication. I will try to catch up with him tomorrow, providing whatever is going on with my vehicle is something simple to take care of... Bottled waters, 3.5 pound bag of puppy food, 3.5 pound bag of small dog food, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, Dashi meal toppers, chicken jerky treats, kabob chew sticks, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, peanut butter knot chews. 2 collapsible pet bowls with leash clips, small leash, plush squeaky toy, small dog collar and handmade pet jacket were shared.

Thursday's Treasures 2-20-2025

My plan this morning was to go to the Jurupa Valley Motel6. I needed to get my carriers back from the gentleman whose cats were spayed/neutered yesterday as well we check on the dogs that got spayed/neutered this Tuesday and Wednesday. I also wanted to visit a couple of dogs that are in a room because their companions rented one. As soon as I got near the motel, the winds kicked up so I was grateful I would be spending some of my time inside the rooms. I went inside three of the rooms and met the others outside. When I left the motel, I drove out to the Lowe's at Pats Ranch Road to pick up something for the yard. I then made a quick stop in Aldi's and finally at our (empty) post office box, before heading home... Bottled waters, 8-pound bag of senior dog food, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, chicken jerky treats, kabob chew sticks and peanut butter knot chews were shared.

#2,243, #2,244,#2,445 & #2,446 Get 'The Works' 2-19-2025

We had five pets scheduled for 'the works' today. Two female dogs and one male dog were to be done at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services spay/neuter clinic. One female cat and one male cat were to be done at the Mary S. Robert's spay/neuter clinic... Both female dogs arrived on time at the first clinic. The male dog was not there so I called the person bringing him and she said she was going to get him. That was at 7:35am. I left the clinic at 8:15am. She did not show and did not respond to my texts or calls. At that point she was forty five minutes late from the time we agreed to meet. I have done other dogs for her so I was really frustrated that she did not make it and that I had to waste an appointment, after she had confirmed. That being said, there was nothing I could do about it so I went home for a brief time before heading back out to the second clinic. The gentleman with the cats was on time. He borrowed two of my pet carriers so his cats could go in to the clinic. I put him in a motel room for the night and will pick up the carriers when I go to check on pets tomorrow morning. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards, 2 pet jackets, small leash, 3.5 pound bag of dog food for small dogs, 20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 2-17 pound bags of cat food from the Star Milling Company, Dashi meal toppers, Wellness wet cat food and a Valentine's Day small plush squeaky toy were shared.

#2,242 Gets 'The Works'. Tuesday's Treasures 2-18-2025

I started my day at Van Buren Animal Hospital with a dog named 'Kobous' and his companion. We originally had him scheduled at Riverside County Department of Animal Service's spay/neuter clinic but they declined doing the neuter due to him having a grade four heart murmur. They did make sure he was vaccinated, microchipped and flea & tick treated before they released him. I called Van Buren Animal Hospital to find out if they would be able to do the surgery. After I finished answering a few questions, they told me they could. I asked his companion if she was willing to have him done there and she was. She brought him in this morning. I reserved a motel room for two nights just to be sure they would be nearby if there were any issues. I will most likely check on him by phone tomorrow and then visit on Thursday. When I left Van Buren Animal Hospital, I went home for a bit and then went back out to the west side of town to meet a gentleman and his two dogs. We were supposed to meet this past Saturday but things did not work out so I offered to go back today. The only stop I made after that was at our PO Box where I was very happy to find a donation check waiting for me. I had planned on turning in my lease tomorrow so I only scheduled pets at one clinic and canceled the four I had at the other. Something came up so I have to wait another week but two of the four appointments I gave back were already used. I was able to schedule two though so if all goes as planned, five pets will get 'the works' tomorrow. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, Dominos gift card, xxl dog harness, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers, Dashi meal toppers, chicken jerky treats, 20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, bully slices and peanut butter know chews were shared.

Monday On The Move 2-17-2025

I drove to the Eastside, this morning, even though I knew the Access Center would be closed. I wasn't sure if anyone would be at the kennels with their dogs but I told people I would be there so I went. When I arrived, there was one dog in the car with his companion. He was taken out of the kennels earlier and they were just hanging out. There was another person inside the kennels with her dogs. The gates were all locked but I was able to get security to let me in so I could visit with her two dogs. She also brought out one more dog that belongs to someone who I don't see very often. I provided a few supplies and was getting ready to leave when a gentleman pulled up with his dog. I wasn't going to leave until he got a few treats and a bully stick. My final stop was over by Victoria and University for a visit with 'Solo', before heading to a freeway onramp so I could go to our storage units. I picked up bags of pet food, cases of water and some collapsible bowls with leash clips. I went straight home from there. Tomorrow morning, I am meeting someone at Van Buren Animal Hospital with a dog we were unable to neuter a couple of weeks ago due to a heart murmur. I am also planning to drive back out to a motel on the West Side to bring dog food to the person who did not meet me when he was supposed to on Saturday. We have three pets scheduled for 'the works' on Wednesday and then if all goes well, I am supposed to turn in my vehicle. My lease is up and I either need to lease or purchase the next one. I have a lot to think about and get done over the next couple of days. I like being busy but there are some decisions I do not enjoy making. Trying to stay positive! Bottled waters, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers, Dashi meal toppers, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, bully slices, buffalo tendons, Nubz chews and peanut butter knot chews were shared.

I made three stops today. The first two were at Fairmount Park and the third was near Agate Park in Jurupa Valley. I visited with seven pets and provided supplies. I had planned to make one more stop but I had given away both bags of senior dog food that I had with me and one of the dogs I wanted to visit needs senior dog food. When I returned home, I placed an order with Chewy and will try to do the visit next week-end... Bottled waters, large bag of recyclables, small fleece pet blanket, 2 handmade pet jackets, small leash, small Max and Neo collar, medium Max and Neo collar, 2 Kong leashes, Dashi meal toppers, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Churus, Wellness wet cat food, wet dog food, 3.5 pound bag of puppy food, wet puppy food, 20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 4.5 pound bag of senior dog food for small dogs, 8 pound bag of senior dog food, chicken jerky treats, bully slices, buffalo tendons, Nubz chews, peanut butter knot bones and a large squeaky Kong ball were shared.

Saturday's Smiles 2-15-2025

I made arrangements to meet a few people at two different motels on the Westside. I was supposed to meet two dogs and their companion at 9:30am but nobody ever showed so I drove to the second motel. The people and pets I planned to visit were there. We visited and each received supplies. During that visit, a gentleman stopped by from a third motel. His two dogs were not with him but he asked if I would like to see them and I said I would. He went and got them. I provided supplies for a total of eight pets and visited with six of them. I later heard from the gentleman who missed me earlier and we made arrangements for me to meet with him and one of his two dogs tomorrow. When I got back home, I received a call from a Riverside County Department of Animal Services Animal Control Officer. He came on the job in October and said he had heard my name mentioned by many of the homeless he was coming across. He was curious to know more about what it is I do and I was happy to explain. He seemed like a very caring person and I am grateful he took the time to have a conversation with me. He clearly wants to help those who want and need it. I hear so many negative things about the shelter and people who work for animal services. So many there have gone out of their way to assist me in my work so I don't share their anger. I may not like animals being euthanized but it is not something that can be blamed on the shelter. I understand there can and must be improvements made but there is also a lot of good going on behind the scenes that very few acknowledge... Bottled waters, handmade pet jacket, medium harness and leash set, 2 large dog harnesses, 1 xl dog harness, 3 Kong leashes, Dashi meal toppers, Inaba Meal Toppers, Inaba Churus, Wellness wet cat food, wet dog food, 2-20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 17 pound bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, bully slices, buffalo tendons, Nubz chews, kabob chew stick, xs squeaky Kong ball, large squeaky Kong balls and Valentine's Day plush squeaky pet toys were shared.

Friday's Furry Friends 2-14-2025

The rain came down pretty hard, all night, and I was grateful the pets that were just spayed and neutered had somewhere warm and dry to sleep. Although I usually go to the Path of Life Community Shelter, and other areas of the Eastside on Fridays, I went to the Jurupa Valley Motel6 so I could check on the dogs that we put there. I planned on going to the Eastside afterwards, if the rain stopped. It did but when I called the person who runs the kennels he said nobody was out there with their dogs so I told him I would just wait and go on Monday and I spent some time driving around Jurupa Valley. I did not find anyone with pets and was on my way to the post office when I spotted a dog I knew in the CircleK parking lot with her companions. I pulled in to visit and ask if they needed anything. I guess the rain ruined most of their belongings but they were ok. While we were talking, the dog managed to reach into the rear hatch and grab a Valentine's Day plush squeaky toy. She began running all over and squeaking it like crazy. We were all laughing. I was actually going to give her that toy but she beat me to it. She didn't get any of the Kong balls out so I threw her one of those. She dropped the toy and ran around squeaking the ball. Even though they all had a horrible night, the dog was still having fun and made everyone smile. I was happy to end today's time on the streets with that... Bottled waters, cookie packs, hand warmers, Inaba Meal Toppers, wet dog food, 20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, chicken jerky treats, bully slices, 6 inch roasted marrow bone, Kong balls and Valentine's Day plush squeaky pet toys were shared.

#2,239, #2,240 & #2,241 Get 'The Works' 2-13-2025

We were all set for spaying and neutering yesterday morning. The rain was just a slight drizzle and all three pets arrived on time. Our problem was that I was not notified Riverside County Department of Animal Services was going to be closed so it was a wasted trip for all. There were still people working, even though they were close to the public, and someone did come out to talk to us. We could not do anything about the situation at hand other than come back today. Everyone agreed to that. I had already provide fuel cards and supplies and made motel reservations. I called to have the reservations dates changed as we were all leaving…Fast forward to this morning. It was pouring most of the night and when I left the house so I was not sure what to expect. The two females are puppies that were coming up from the river bottom and the male dog was coming from out in the Woodcrest area. Thankfully, everyone showed back up today. The only issue we had was that one of the puppies already lost her jacket but I gave her another. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, homemade cupcakes, ARCO fuel cards, 4 handmade pet jackets, 2 Max and Neo small dog collars, Max and Neo small leash, Inaba Meal Toppers, 3.5 pound bag of dog food for small dogs, 2 collapsible pet bowls and Valentine's Day plush squeaky pet toys were shared.

Tuesday's Treasures 2-11-2025

I did quite a bit of driving around ,this morning, but I only made three stops for pets. The first was in Rubidoux where I visited a little dog and his companion. I also provided supplies for the dog and the cat we recently spayed. My second stop was at Fairmount Park. The person I was looking for had actually gone somewhere to get something to eat. There was someone with a dog there though so I visited with them and provided a few supplies. When I left the park, I drove over to where the person I was looking for was eating. I had a bag of dog food for her but she rode a bike to get food and it would have been too much to carry the large bag with her puppy and her other dog. I told her I would get her a room tomorrow night for her birthday and to get out of the rain that is coming. If she is able to get to the room, I will bring the bag of food there Thursday morning. If not, I will figure something else out. When I left the fast food place, I drove to the 60 freeway and then got on the 91 to head over to our storage units. Seth Cox picked up our Monthly Recurring Donation of pet food from the Star Milling Company and was delivering it to me. When he arrived, I could see he was not feeling well. I felt bad that he still went out and picked up our food and was even more grateful than usual that he was willing to do that for those we serve. My next stop was at our PO Box where there were a couple of Chewy donation boxes waiting for me. I am not sure who one of them is from but will hopefully find out when I post the items. My final stop was to pick up a balloon that I will bring to my grandbaby tomorrow with a few other things I have for Valentine's Day. It is not a holiday I normally care to celebrate but any excuse works if it means I can do something for her! Bottled waters, Dashi meal toppers, 3.5 pound bag of small bites dog food, Inaba Churus, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, Inaba chicken stew, Inaba chicken fillet, Wellness wet cat food, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, kabob chew sticks, bully slices, XXL dog harness and a large Kong ball were shared.

Monday On The Move 2-10-2025

When I arrived at the Path of Life Community Shelter, on the Eastside this morning, I did not see anyone outside with their dogs. The only people I saw with dogs were people who stay on the street or in their vehicle so I did spend some time with them. When I left that location, I drove over to where the wife of our 'web master' Ralph Torres works, in order to drop off a bag for them and their cats. From there I drove to a parking lot in Rubidoux to meet someone needing dog jackets. I was also going to meet a couple who found a dog and needed it checked for a microchip. I gave the dogs their jackets, collars, a leash and other supplies. Afterwards, I checked the stray for a chip. She was chipped and it seems this is not the first time the couple found the dog running loose. The last time, they posted on a few sites and people came to get her but just two weeks later and she was in the same predicament. The dog smelled terrible. The finders think both of her ears are infected and she seemed to have other issues too. I gave the finders (who I know well) the microchip number. They are staying at the Jurupa Valley Motel6 with their own two dogs and couldn't bring another big dog into the room but they were in but said they would figure things out. Sadly, it did not seem as if she was cared for very well the last time she was returned to her people. I did not make anymore stops, after that...Bottled waters, 2 handmade pet jackets, Dashi meal toppers, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, buffalo tendons, bully slices, Nubz chews, large dog collar, xl leash and a Max and Neo large dog collar were shared.

Sunday On The Streets 2-09-2025

I visited two different locations, today, and visited with nine pets. My first stop was at the Veteran's Memorial Park off of Riverview Avenue and Limonite. I went there to meet someone who was unable to meet with me yesterday. I was able to fit her dog with a jacket and provide a few supplies including a Kong ball as well as a Valentine's Day plush squeaky toy. From that location, I drove out to Holly Street near the Fed-Ex trucking facility where I met a group of people with pets from the river bottom. Six people were there with nine pets. I spent time visiting each pet, providing treat, toys and supplies. That took some time but everyone got what they needed... Bottled waters, cookie packs, 5 handmade pet jackets, pet ear wipes, 3.5 pound bag of dog food for small dogs, dog food, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, Dashi meal toppers for cats, 4-20 pound bags of dog food from the Star Milling Company, large bag of treats, chicken jerky treats, bully sticks, peanut butter flavored bones, buffalo tendons, Nubz chews, Kong balls and Valentine's Day plush squeaky pet toys were shared.

Saturday's Smiles 2-08-2025

I made arrangements to meet with people at the Jurupa Valley Motel6 this morning. A couple with a dog and a cat were meeting me and so was a gentleman with two dogs. They all had rooms at the motel. In addition, someone was going to meet me there to provide her dogs with jackets and introduce me to another dog that we scheduled to be neutered on the 19th of this month. The people staying at the motel brought their pets out to the parking lot for a visit and to get supplies. The other person never showed up and her phone went straight to voicemail when I tried to call. After I left the motel, I drove around Rubidoux, for a little while, but did not see anyone with pets. I then went to check our PO Box. Someone said they were sending a check but it was not there. I still had time before I had to get back home so I drove around Jurupa Valley for a little while too. No luck finding anyone and the phone went straight to voicemail, when I tried calling someone who stayed nearby in the river bottom. It was only 11am but I didn't want to waste anymore fuel so I went home... Bottled waters, candy canes, 17 pound bag of cat food from the Star Milling Company, small bag of small bites senior dog food, 8 pound bag of senior dog food, wet dog food, Inaba Churus, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, Dashi meal toppers for cats, small harness and leash set, chicken jerky treats, bully stick, peanut butter flavored bone, buffalo tendons, Kong balls and a plush squeaky Valentine's day dog toys were shared.

Friday's Furry Friends 2-07-2025

It was a pretty unproductive morning but it wasn't for a lack of my trying to do more. The rain was coming down pretty steadily, when I left the house this morning. I wasn't even sure if I would see anyone with pets but I headed to the Path of Life Community Shelter, on the Eastside, hoping the rain would let up. When I arrived, there was nobody outside the kennels there. There were multiple tents and things on Massachusetts but everyone was huddled up inside. I drove over to Hunter Park and around a few areas of the Eastside but did not see anyone so I went back by the Path of Life Community Shelter. It was just drizzling by then and I did see a couple of people outside with their pets. I stopped to visit with them and provide a few supplies. When I left that that location, I drove through Rubidoux but did not see anyone with pets there either. I continued to our PO Box, in Jurupa Valley, and then drove around a few areas near there with no success. I thought about going back to the Motel6 to bring supplies to a couple of rooms I am supposed to go to tomorrow and to visit rooms of the pets that were going to check out today. However, I pulled into a parking lot to take a phone call and when I was done I decided to just go home... Bottled waters, peanut butter flavored chew bone, chicken jerky treats, bully stick, Kong ball and a plush squeaky Valentine's Day dog toy were shared.

Thursday's Treasures 2-06-2025

It was raining this morning so I was grateful to be going to check on pets that we put in the Jurupa Valley Motel6 last night. I spent time going back and forth from the rooms to get supplies from my vehicle but I managed to stay fairly dry. While at the motel, I visited the rooms of the pets that received 'the works' yesterday as well as the one pet that was unable to get neutered. I also ran into a couple of people who were staying in rooms they paid for. I covered the cost for one of those rooms, for this evening, and gave the companions dog food and chews. I did not visit the dogs but will this weekend. I will also bring a small bag of senior food for their senior dog. The other person I spoke to was in need of small bites senior food and I will bring that this week-end too. When I left the motel, I drove out to the Costco in Eastvale. I go there, every few months, to pick up a few things and the rainy weather made today seem like a good day to do that. When I left the store, I made a quick stop at our (empty) PO Box and then headed home... Bottled waters, candy canes, 3.5 pound bag of small bites dog food, 20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, peanut butter chews bones, buffalo tendons, bully sticks, churro chew sticks, Kong balls, plush squeaky Valentine's day dog toys were shared.

#2,234, 35, 36, 27, and #2,238 Get 'The Works' 2-05-2025

Because it was raining this morning, I was not sure what to expect as far as people showing up for their spay/neuter appointments. We had seven pets scheduled for 'the works'. All dogs. Four females and three males. We had three set up at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services spay/neuter clinic and four at the Mary S. Robert's spay/neuter clinic... At 7:30am, I arrived at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. I am happy to say that the three people I was supposed to meet were already there. The two male dogs and one female dog received needed supplies and were checked in by 8:20am. I went home to wake and feed my senior dog and then headed back out to the second clinic. On my way there, I received a call that the one year old jack russel terrier mix had a grade 4 heart murmur and they would not be doing his neuter surgery. They gave him his vaccinations and microchip but suggested taking him to a full service vet for the neuter. I called Van Buren Animal Hospital to discuss having that done. They will be doing it on the 18th of this month. I still put the dog and his companion in a room for the night, just so they could get out of the chilly, damp weather. I will put them in again, after his neuter…When I arrived at the Mary S. Robert's clinic, one of the four dogs was already there with her companion. A couple of people that were coming with two dogs called to say they were running a little late but were definitely on their way. The fourth dog was the big disappointment for me. It wasn't just because her companion was a no show and did not bother to call, text or answer any of my calls or texts either. It also wasn't because I waited around for an hour to give her a chance to make it. I was originally going to spay the dog last month but the companion never called back to give me her info and the dog's info so I could schedule the appointment. She called the day before the appointment could have been and was very upset that it was not happening. I tried to explain that I couldn't do anything without their information but she proceeded to cry and yell at me. I finally just hung up, because she wasn't listening to what I was telling her. She then sent me a long nasty text. Fast forward to a few weeks later and I texted her to see if she still needed the appointment. She said she did and I was willing to let the past stay in the past and just help the dog. After all of that, she wasted my time and an appointment today. Sometimes giving someone a second chance isn't worth it but I usually try to insure the pet gets what it needs. That being said, I won't be walked all over and I will only put up with so much before I just move on and hope the pet finally gets what it needs. It is not the pet's fault if their companion messes everything up but I won't make excuses for them over and over just because of that... At the end of the day, we got 5 of the original 7 spayed/neutered and the 6th will get his surgery in the near future. "One by one we get them done, because the only way to combat pet overpopulation and euthanasia in our shelters is to spay and neuter." Bottled waters, ARCO fuel cards, puppy training pads, 6 handmade pet jackets, xl neon leash, small Max and Neo leash, large leash, 2 collapsible pet bowls with leash clips, wet puppy food, wet dog food, 20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, 2 small bags of puppy food, small bag of senior dog food and doggie waste bags were shared.

Tuesday's Treasures 2-04-2025

Before I hit the streets, this morning, I went to run an errand. While I was driving, I noticed a gentleman with a dog near the ARCO station on Limonite. I thought I knew the dog so I pulled in. It was a dog we provided 'the works' for awhile back. He did not have the leash I had provided the last time we met and the dog was not wearing the jacket either. I guess code enforcement threw everything away. I understand they have a job to do but it is frustrating when they trash supplies that the pets need. I did not have another Tiller Tugs leash with me but I did have a leash and another jacket. I gave the dog those items and a few other things too. When I left them, I ran into Staters to grab something I forgot yesterday and went back home. I did a few things around the house and then went back out. My first stop was going to be for a family in Rubidoux with a cat, we recently spayed, and a dog we neutered awhile back. Their tent was zipped up and the dog did not bark when I pulled up. I figured they were sleeping and left. I went to Fairmount Park next where I visited with a couple of dogs and provided supplies. I also had an opportunity to visit with a dog that recently moved into an apartment with his companion. They may be living indoors now but the dog still enjoys the park and I always enjoy our visits. My final stop was near Fleetwood in Jurupa Valley. I stopped for a gentleman who has a cat and a dog. The cat ran into the RV when I pulled up but the dog was very happy to hang out for a bit. I provided supplies for both pets and then headed back home. I have been putting off cleaning the outdoor furniture and the balcony it is sits on. I decided it was time to stop procrastinating. I usually don't put things off and when I do it just bugs me. An hour later, I was thankful I finally got it done! Bottled waters, 2 handmade pet jackets, xl neon leash, doggie waste bags, collapsible pet dish, medium stainless steel pet dish, wet dog food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, large bag of dog treats, chicken jerky treats, cases of Dashi from Inaba, buffalo tendons, bully sticks, bully slices, Kong squeaky balls and Valentine's Day plush squeaky pet toys were shared.

Monday On The Move 2-03-2025

I spent part of my morning at and around the Path of Life Community Shelter on the Eastside. There is a very nice woman who has been making us pet jackets for the past few years and she is always willing to make more if we run out. We still had the smaller sizes but all of the larger jackets were gone. We made arrangements to meet by the shelter this morning so she could bring more. Two of the dogs in the kennels were in need so it seemed like a good place to meet. One of the dog's, that stays on Massachusetts with her companion, needed one too. She ha done but it got taken by code enforcement so I was wanted to provide her with another. There was a lot of dram around there today so as soon as I took care of everything I planned on doing at that location I left. I had a package that needed to be sent to Sacramento so I went home to pick it up and take it to the post office. When the package was sent, I drove around for a bit to see if there were any people with pets in the area but I did not find anyone. I needed a few things for the next time I bake so I went to the store and then home... Bottled waters, protein bars, candy canes, disposable rain ponchos, handmade pet jackets, small harness and leash set, chicken jerky treats, 2-20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, case of Dashi from Inaba, buffalo tendons, bully sticks, bully slices, Kong squeaky balls and Valentine's Day plush squeaky pet toys were shared.

Sunday On The Streets 2-02-2025

Before making any stops today, I went to our storage units and met with someone, from Inaba, to receive a donation of cases of Dashi. I had planned on going back out to Grand Terrace and bring supplies to the woman who was unable to get to me yesterday. I tried calling her and texting multiple times but got no response. I am not sure what happened, being that we said we would meet today. There was nothing I could do without being able to get in touch with her so I drove out to Jurupa Valley near Agate Park to visit a family there. I was already going to visit them today but it was originally going to be after I went to Grand Terrace. While I was at that location I visited with five pets and provided supplies. It was around 11:30am when I left so I called it a day and did not go looking for any other people with pets... Bottled waters, toilet tissue, large collapsible double pet dish, chicken jerky treats, Inaba Churus, 20 pound bag of dog food from the Star Milling Company, case of Dashi from Inaba, wet dog food, Wellness wet cat food, Inaba Meal Toppers for dogs, wet cat food, doggie waste bags, buffalo tendons, bully sticks, Kong squeaky balls and Valentine's Day plush squeaky toys were shared.
